1995 NPC USA Champion Phil Hernon dies.
Pro bodybuilder Phil Hernon unfortunately passed away at 55 year. The 1995 NPC USA champion had a number of health complications during his life.
The cause of death is not know, but Phil was having a number of serious medical problems.
Phil Hernon, started his competitive bodybuilding career in 1987, working his way up the NPC ranks.
The highlight of his career was in 1995, when he won the 1995 NPC USA Championships.
In the heavyweight division, Phil edged passed Craig Titus to win his class. Phil also defeated the young Dexter Jackson to take home the overall title.
As a pro, Phil unfortunately did not have a long run and only competed on two occasions.
He placed 15th at the 1996 Night of the Champions and 8th at the 1996 San Jose Invitational.
Phil’s career was cut short due to some personal and legal problems. He would never step on the pro stage again.
Unfortunately, Phil had a number of serious medical problems after his bodybuilding career ended. Being an open book on his social media, Phil always kept his followers up-to-date with his medical situations.
Phil was also known for his honest and sometimes brutal opinions on certain subjects related to bodybuilding and life in general. His popular social media rants, recorded from the inside of his car, gathered a lot of attention.

As his health deteriorated, he disappeared from the public eye.
Phil’s partner Pamela Guererri confirmed the news of Phil’s death on his official Facebook page:
“It is with deep sadness that I have to make this post. With a very heavy heart I’m letting you all know that last night Phil passed away peacefully after a sudden recent decline. I want to thank each and every one of you that has reached out over the last few years to check up on him and all the prayers and love sent his way. His strength has truly been an inspiration to many and I have always felt so happy for him with the outpouring of love and support that he has always received from all of you. He had been starting to do well so this is very unexpected. God bless you Phil you are very loved and will be missed tremendously.”
