2021 Mr. Olympia review by bodybuilding legend Jean Pierre Fux

“The 2021 Olympia is in the books and here’s my analysis. Certainly it’s not like I had a prime seat and can only judge from watching it on pay per view, which can be a bit distorted.

“First, my placings: 1) Ramy 2) Brandon 3) Hadi 4) Walker 5) Bonac 6) Rodriguez 7) Valliere 8) Labrada 9) Akim 10) Roelly

“I had Brandon slightly ahead after the prejudging, but it turned out that he was one point behind. Ramy was about 5-10% better at the final and did just enough to win since Brandon was a bit better Friday night.

“Hadi was sensational, and I wouldn’t have any problems if he won the entire show. Sometimes he looks a bit on the light side against Ramy and Brandon which are 40-80 lbs heavier. Hadi was great.

“Hunter who placed fourth is possibly the most balanced athlete up there, but was off, and a sweaty mess. He looked pretty good for a couple of minutes when drying off his sweat, but fell apart every time into a few poses.

“Nick looked great as well and deserved fourth in my opinion. It’s going to be interesting to see what will happen to his physique in the next couple of years.

“Bonac was also good but not great, his hamstrings where not where they used to be, although a bit improved from last year. Like Nick being a bit blocky, prevents him from having a chance against the top three.

“Ian was off, but I’m not surprised after several shows in a short time. Even when he was not at his best, he deserved seventh place after a great year.

“Rodriguez grew on me as the show went along, great flow and I had him in the top six.

“Akim was clearly off from last year, but he will be back.

“Roelly’s old weakness, the mid-section came back to haunt him, especially in the finale.

“It was a great Olympia, and great judging.

“I am looking forward to next year with Ramy trying to win number three and equal Sergio Oliva and Frank Zane’s record.” – Jean Pierre Fux
