2022 Arnold Classic: Men’s Classic Physique – Terrence Ruffin wins.
Terrence Ruffin managed to defend his title and walk away with $60,000 at the 2022 Arnold Classic.
There was a lot to fight for at the 2022 Arnold Classic. Not only was qualification for the Olympia Weekend was on the cards, but the prize money was raised substantially.
In 2021, the winning prize for the Classic Physique winner was $7,000. In 2022, Arnold Schwarzenegger believed the athletes deserved more, and raised the amount to $60,000. This amount is more than the $50,000 awarded at the 2021 Mr. Olympia to Chris Bumstead.
Going into the 2022 Arnold Classic, Terrence Ruffin was a automatic favorite to win and defend his title. Coming off a very successful 2021 season, Terrence also placed second to Chris Bumstead at the 2021 Mr. Olympia.
Terrence was perfect from beginning to end, with a posing routine that matched his incredible physique.
Presenting a incredible posing routine earned Terrence another $10,000, after he was awarded the Best Poser Award. Arnold Schwarzenegger believes posing is a very important part of a bodybuilding event, and he makes sure the athletes are awarded.
Ramon Rocha finished in second and took home a $30,000 cash prize. Rocha presented a very muscular and thick physique compared to his fellow competitors. If Ramon was slightly more conditioned, he probably would have had a better chance to challenge for the title.
The German sensation, Urs Kalecinski, continued to impress and finished in third place.
Taking home $20,000 and motivation to continue to improve, Urs will definitely win the Arnold Classic or even the Classic Olympia title in the near future. Finishing fourth at the Classic Physique Olympia and now third at the Arnold Classic, we can only expect Urs to get better.
Brandon Ansley had to settle for fourth and $7,000, Michael Daboul finished in fifth, taking home $4,000 and finally Peter Molnar had to settle for sixth and $2,000.
