2022 Texas Pro: Andrew Jacked wins and books Mr. Olympia ticket.
Chinedu Andrew Obiekea, aka Andrew Jacked, shocked the bodybuilding world by winning the 2022 Texas Pro on his pro debut, and earning is qualification for the 2022 Mr. Olympia.
Men’s Open Bodybuilding and Women’s Physique were the highlight of the second day of events at the 2022 Texas Pro.
A deep line-up of 19 bodybuilders took to the stage for this great battle in Texas. Andrew Jacked made his pro debut, with his fellow competitors not expecting him to cause such damage.
Going into the show, Steve Kuclo and Kamal Elgargni were the favourites to win the event, but it would turn out to be a totally different story.
Labelled as Flex Wheeler 2.0 by Milos Sarcev, when Andrew Jacked stepped on stage, it was evident that he was going to cause a lot of trouble to his fellow competitors.
Andrew presented a physique with great balance, condition and a very small mid-section, the perfect combination to win any show.
In the lead up to this event, a number of bodybuilding pundits, predicted that Andrew will not succeed at the 2022 Texas Pro, but they were all proved wrong.
With the backing of bodybuilding Flex Wheeler, George Farah, Milos Sarcev and even Flex Lewis, Andrew has the perfect team to continue improving.
The rest of the pack ended up fighting for second place, with Martin Fitzwater edging out Steve Kuclo and Kamal Elgargni.
Martin also presented a very balanced physique, but he could not match the hardness and overall look of Andrew in the end, but it was enough to defeat a number of veterans of the sport.
Steve Kuclo went into the show as one of the favourites to lift the title, after placing second to Iain Vallieire in 2021.
It would be a different story this year, as a number of new talented athletes have emerged and started to take over the sport.
Steve was in the mix for the majority of the show, showing fantastic condition, especially in his legs, compared to the rest of his rivals. But when compared to Andrew, it was evident that Andrew had the edge.
Steve would end up fighting for third sport against Kamal Elgargni.
Tampa Pro runner-up, Kamal Elgargni, was also predicted as a favourite to win this event, after placing second to Akim Williams last weekend in Tampa.
Reality set in for Kamal as he was being compared to the rest of the line-up, it’s an Open Bodybuilding competition and the big boys are going to be the dominant figures.
Regardless if he presented a physique with the best condition and hardness on the stage, when standing next to Steve Kuclo or Andrew Jacked, their size just dominates the smaller physique of Kamal Elgargni.
Placing fourth in such a great line-up is still a great accomplishment for 51 year old bodybuilder, who is still defeating athletes half his age.
Next up was Women’s Physique, with Melissa Teich taking home the top prize and her qualification to the 2022 Olympia Weekend.
Pamela Canfield finished in second with Ana Harias taking the bronze medal.
During the event, a number of Women’s Open Bodybuilding competitors had some mixed reactions about this female division.
Some athletes, suggested that the majority of Women’s Physique competitors can easily compete in the Women’s Open Bodybuilding division.
These Women’s Physique athletes already walk on stage with incredible condition and hardness, just adding a little more size will be enough to compete for the top prizes in the Women’s Open division.
