The 2024 Arnold Classic started with a bang, with the classic boy himself, Wesley Vissers defeating the defending champion Ramon Rocha Queiroz, to win the title.
Wesley has won several pro shows since turning pro a few years ago, but he always missed out on a major title, such as the Olympia, or the Arnold Classic.
The Men’s Classic Physique division can be tricky sometimes, with some athletes showing the potential to move up to the Men’s Open division, and at the same time, losing the classic lines.
Wesley Vissers has always been an advocate of the classic look, and has practically built his entire career and physique around this, such as his brand Vintage Genetics.
When the Men’s Classic Physique athletes stepped on stage, it was evident that Wesley made massive improvements during his off-season, he made some incredible improvements to his legs and was the best-conditioned athlete on stage.
Taking nothing away from the defending champion, Ramon looked incredible, but on the day, Wesley presented a better physique and presented a more classic look.
When it came to posing, all the athletes represented the classic era perfectly, but it was Wesley who hit each pose perfectly.
While showing some major improvements, Urs Kalecinski had to settle for third. when standing alone, Urs looks incredible, but at the 2024 Arnold Classic, he did not have that bit of extra size to defeat Wesley or Ramon.
Breon Ansley had to settle for fourth place. While showing some major improvements from the 2023 Olympia Weekend, the bigger athletes, such as Wesley and Ramon, overpowered the two-time Classic Physique Olympia winner.
