2025 IFBB European Federation Executive Council Meeting.
The IFBB continues to expand its events, creating new events, and expanding the already established events, all over Europe.
Chaired by Dr. Rafael Santonja, who’s also the President of the International Federation, the European Federation held its traditional Annual Executive Council Meeting in Madrid this past January 2025.
The main topics discussed were the preparations for the intense European competition calendar scheduled for 2025, with special attention to events such as the Southern Europe Championship, which will take place in Portugal; the European Championship, to be held in Santa Susanna; the Balkan Championship; and the new editions of the prestigious Mr. Universe, which this year will take place in locations including Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Austria, Rome, the Canary Islands, and many others.
Other topics addressed included the growth of the Fitness Challenge Academy and updates to regulations.
Bringing together IFBB’s top executives regularly is what strengthens the sport of bodybuilding and fitness. IFBB’s highest-ranked executives do listen to the athletes, and try everything possible to improve the sport on and off the stage.
While several athletes do not see the importance of meetings such as the IFBB European Executive Council Meeting, without these meetings, the IFBB would not be the organized federation that it is today.
What was started by IFBB founder, Ben Weider, is continued by IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja. Dr. Santonja has continued to build and expand on the foundations that the late Ben Weider left behind.
The IFBB is not ruled by one person, as other so-called federations are, everything within the IFBB is voted in democratically and fairly, giving every affiliated country a voice.
The European Bodybuilding Federation is gearing up for an exciting year filled with challenges and achievements in the sport.
