The bodybuilding world mourns the death of Sergio Fernandez. Sergio was killed as he tried to stop robbers stealing his car in Mexico.
Sergio Fernandez was killed at the young age of 39, in front of the gym he loved going to in Mexico.
As Sergio tried to stop robbers from stealing his car, he was shot three times in the head.
Sergio was a personal trainer and also organized seminars with bodybuilding stars in Mexico.
Sergio leaves behind his loving wife and his two month old baby boy.
The news about the death of Sergio started to spread like wildfire when bodybuilding legend Milos Sarcev, published the news about Sergio’s death.
Milos expressed his sorrow in a heartfelt message on his official Instagram page.
“With unbelievable pain I have to accept the truth that my dear friend Sergio Fernandez is no longer with us. He was brutally killed today in Mexico, trying to prevent his car to be stolen (!) – in front of the Gym. He was shot 3 times in a head!!! Sergio was one of the nicest people you would ever meet, with so much love for life, undying energy, un-erasable smile, so much passion for bodybuilding and so much love for others…especially kids. After years of trying he finally got his own – son Davide, who is now only 2 months old. My heart is completely broken. We delayed our reunion and seeing each other for the last couple of years due to Covid…and knowing that I’ll never see him again pains me beyond belief. My sincere condolences to his family and his new wife, that I never had a chance to meet. Rest In Heavenly Peace, where you belong my brother.” – Milos Sarcev
