“I have the confidence to win the Arnold Classic” – Brandon Curry.
In his latest episode of the Real Bodybuilding Podcast, Mr. Olympia Brandon Curry is Fouad Abiad’s guest.
Fouad Abiad and Brandon talk about the Mr. Olympia, prepping for the 2022 Arnold Classic, his supplement brand and finally family life.
The 2022 Arnold Classic
With the 2022 Arnold Classic just around the corner, Fouad Abiad takes the opportunity to ask Brandon a few questions about his prep, and what he thinks his chances are of winning the title.
Brandon was not planning to compete at the Arnold Classic, but he revealed that everything was falling into place, in regards to training. When he was invited to the Arnold Classic, Brandon decided that he can get ready in time to challenge for the title.
When asked about his chances of winning, Brandon said that he is going to the Arnold Classic to win his second title in Ohio. Brandon also has won the 2013 Arnold Classic Brazil and the 2017 Arnold Classic Australia.
Brandon is the favorite to win the Arnold Classic, but even though he said he has the confidence to win, he is keeping his eye on competitors such as William Bonac, Regan Grimes, Steve Kuclo, Cedric McMillan and others.
Even though a number of competitors have dropped out, the remaining ten are the top bodybuilders in the world. It will be a very exciting event.
At the end of the interview, Fouad asked Brandon how he thinks he will do, pose for pose against his fellow competitors. Laughing all through the questions, Brandon said he will beat all the competitors on every pose. At the same time, he said that he respects all his fellow competitors and is looking forward to compete against them on the Arnold Classic stage.
The Mr. Olympia
The focus then turned to the Mr. Olympia. Brandon won the title in 2019, but he had to settle for second in 2020 and 2021 to Big Ramy.
Brandon explains how he handles the losing the title and he just wants to move on and focus on the next. He believes it is a waste of time crying about what happened in the past and focus on the future. At the same time, Brandon explains that this mentality comes with experience.
Going into the 2022 Mr. Olympia, Brandon believes he still has what it takes to win the title back, and rather concentrating on his competitors, he is focusing on bringing his best package to the stage.
Diet and Cardio
Brandon has been preparing for the Arnold Classic for ten-weeks. Leading up to the event, Brandon continues to include cardio in his training regime.
On his leg days and off days, Brandon refrains from doing cardio. When Brandon does do cardio, he does three sessions a day.
Brandon weighs 255lbs two-weeks out from the Arnold Classic. Fouad explained that for some other bodybuilders, to have the same full look as Brandon, they would need to weigh 275lbs and more.
Thanks to Brandon’s small waist and and large muscle bellies, he looks much bigger than his fellow competitors.
The Humble Champion
Evolutionofbodybuilding.net have published a number of articles featuring Brandon Curry. The 2019 Mr. Olympia champion is one of the most humble bodybuilders in the sport and he is a true gentleman.
Brandon always gives a positive vibe and he never talks negatively about anybody.
Unfortunately, when Brandon Curry won the Mr. Olympia, Covid-19 brought the entire world to a halt. Even when it was almost impossible, Brandon continued to be a great ambassador of the sport and the Mr. Olympia legacy.
Regardless if he wins again or not, Brandon will always be the People’s Champion.
