Arnold Classic USA cancels 212 event for 2019… Could Kamal Elgargni be the problem?

Arnold Classic USA cancels 212 event for 2019… Could Kamal Elgargni be the problem?

The bodybuilding and fitness industry have been up in arms regarding the 2019 Arnold Classic USA removing the 212 event from the event.

All the major sites that support the NPC/Pro League have been discussing this major news item and at the end of it all they have no idea why this decision was made.

It makes no sense to remove the most popular part of the pro event, but the actions leading up to the event in 2018 could have been a major factor.

Evolutionofbodybuilding.net have their theory on why the 212 category was removed.

Kamal Elgargni is the winner of the 2018 Arnold Classic 212 event. Kamal’s victory caused a wave of controversy.

It was not Kamal’s condition, as he looked fantastic, it was the comments he made leading up to the show that was controversial.

It is not that the IFBB did not give Kamal a Pro League Card, but it was he who wanted to remain competing as an amateur as he was practically making more than a Mr. Olympia winner.

Kamal was interviewed by Dave Palumbo on rxmuscle.com and as well after he won the 212 Arnold Classic title by Shawn Ray when he was working with Generation Iron.

Kamal’s comments on how he was not given a Pro Card by the IFBB and IFBB President Dr Rafael Santonja was a total lie.

Not only were Kamal’s interviews controversial, but even his comments in front of Arnold Schwarzenegger when he was given his first place trophy.

After the contest, evolutionofbodybuilding.net acquired the documents that Kamal said did not exist and published them in a article immediately after the show.

As well, Kamal himself said how much money he made as a amateur athlete with the IFBB when he was paid by the countries he represented every time he won a IFBB World Championship. This happened on more than one occasion.

It is not that the IFBB did not give Kamal a Pro League Card, but it was he who wanted to remain competing as an amateur as he was practically making more than the Mr. Olympia winner.

Kamal was given a Pro Card and in 2003 he competed at the Night of the Champions and placed dead last. Kamal ended up going back to amateur level as that is where he was successful. The IFBB rules state that once you go back to being an amateur athlete after turning pro, you cannot go back to being a pro.

But this is not the only reason he was not given a Pro Card, Kamal failed doping tests that were done under the watchful eye of WADA.

So as speculation continues to spread regarding the reason why the 212 division was removed from the 2019 Arnold Classic USA, this could be one of the main factors.

Remember, the Arnold Sports Festival is run by Arnold Schwarzenegger and his partners. If Arnold feels he was laughed at or lied to, he can take any decision he wants, even if it does not make sense to remove one of the most popular divisions at the show.

Kamal can do what he wants in the Olympia, but when it comes to the Arnold Classic, its a different story.

It would have been a tricky situation. How can you have the 212 division and not invite Kamal Elgargni, the defending champion. So the safest decision to take is to remove it completely.

While Kamal was trying to give IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja a bad name, he did not take into consideration he was talking about a man that has very close ties with Arnold Schwarzenegger through business and as well very close on a personal level.

Basically Kamal walked into Arnold’s house and talked negatively about one of his closest friends!!

So putting all these facts together, it gives you a good indication on one of the possible reason the 212 division was removed from the 2019 Arnold Classic USA.

Getting back to the suspension of Kamal. Kamal is suspended from 11 March 2014 to 10 March 2021. Evolutionofbodybuilding.net have obtained a number of documents that prove the suspension of Kamal.

The letter dated 28th March 2017 issued by Qatar Bodybuilding Federation (federation cancelled on 1st January 2014) which indicate that our conformation for no record of existing penalties or life bans imposed on Kamal Elgargni is unfounded.

A suspicious letter (see attached) dated March 28 2017, by the Qatar Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation stating they have no record of Kamal’s suspension and he complies with the Qatar Anti-Doping Agency and WADA meaning he is eligible to compete with the IFBB in the future. The website associated with this letter (www.qwbf.org) does not exist.

Jim Manion did not give Kamal his first IFBB Pro Card. Kamal competed at the 2003 IFBB Pro Night of the Champions and did not place

After Kamal’s comments in numerous interviews and even during his speech with Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Qatar Anti-Doping Agency confirmed in a letter dated 5 April, 2018 (see attached) to Prof. Maurico de Arruda Campos that the letter released on March 28 2017 is totally false.

Read the official letter below:

To: Prof. Mauricio de Arruda Campos

IFBB Anti-doping Commission Chairman

The letter dated 28th March 2017 issued by Qatar Bodybuilding Federation (federation cancelled on 1st January 2014) which indicate that our conformation for no record of existing penalties or life bans imposed on Kamal Elgargni is unfounded.

Kind regards,

Obviously after reading these documents that definitely show Kamal is suspended till 2021. The IFBB Pro League will insist that they do not abide with the rules of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) so this means Kamal can compete.

Kamal is competing in the same organization (IFBB Pro League) that has their president Jim Manion included in WADA’s ‘Prohibited Association List’ to manage sport as a consequence of his continuous violations of the WADA Code, disrespecting international sport rules.

Jim Manion is also suspended till 10 October 2021.

The official documents have been made public on WADA’s Official website. The publication date was 12 January 2018.

What is disgraceful in all this is that, not only is it wrong letting a suspended athlete compete in a federation, but letting Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is one of the most respected and powerful people in the sport of bodybuilding hand an award to a suspended athlete without his knowledge has truly tarnished the sport and can have terrible consequences.
