Arnold Sports Festival South America rescheduled for April 2022.
The organizers of the Arnold Sports Festival South America have decided for the second consecutive year to reschedule the event.
The 2021 Arnold Sports Festival South America was originally set to take place between 29-31 October, 2021. Unfortunately due to complications from the Covid-19 pandemic, the event had to be rescheduled.
The organizers made an official announcement on their official social media pages confirming 22-24 April, 2022 as the new date.
The announcement made in Portuguese, explains the main reasons why the difficult decision to postpone the event was taken.
With the Covid-19 virus still affecting South America heavily, the vaccination process is a challenge in itself.
As of 24 May, 2021, approximately 39 million people were given the first dose while 18 million are fully vaccinated. With the total being approximately 57 million vaccinated, this is only 8.8% of the Brazilian population.
The organizers of the Arnold Sports Festival South Africa expressed their concern that the athletes and spectators would be at risk if the event took place in 2021.
The safety of the athletes, sponsors and spectators is the first priority for the organizers, and the decision to move the date to April 2022, was the best solution.
