Blue Star Blade is a premium fat burner specifically designed for men.
Our Blue Star Blade review will look to see if this product can live up to it’s claims, or if there is anything better on the market right now!
When you look at this product, you’ll quickly notice ingredients such as caffeine anhydrous, sweet pepper, and green tea.
These are supposed to help you with:
- Thermogenesis (metabolism)
On the other hand, we also have ingredients such as Yohimbe which are known to cause side effects (more on that soon).
Now, the price of Blue Star Blade is $69.99. This is right up there with the best fat burners on the market.
In this Blue Star Blade review, we’ll see if Blade can actually compete with the best, and whether it’s worth your time and money.
Pros and Cons
Blue Star Blade shines when it comes to stimulants. It offers caffeine, green tea, and Yohimbe, to name just a few. All of these work to boost your noradrenaline and other stress hormones to make your body sweat more, increase energy, and burn fat. But whether including so many aggressive stimulants (especially yohimbe) is healthy, is another story.
- Uses green tea which speeds up the metabolism
- Sweet pepper acts as thermogenic
- Bioperine helps with the absorption of other ingredients
- Too many stimulants: caffeine, yohimbe HCL, synephrine, green tea
- Yohimbe can cause racing heart, anxiety, and palpitations
- Bitter orange peel can aggravate anxiety and heart problems
- Uses proprietary blend which masks ingredient doses
- There are two sources of caffeine in the product – green tea and caffeine itself. The result: an aggressive dose which can cause negative side effects in some people
- High price: $69.99 for just one bottle
Who Makes Blue Star Blade
Blade is the flagship fat burner of the company Blue Star Nutraceuticals.
Blue Star Nutraceuticals are well-known in the supplement market. They offer a wide range of products, including amino acids, creatine, and fish oil caps.
Blue Star Nutraceuticals pride themselves on their products’ potency, purity, and honesty.
But the latter one is questionable.
Their fat burner, Blue Star Nutraceuticals Blade, contains a proprietary blend, which is the opposite of honesty and transparency. But lets keep going with our Blue Star Blade Review.
Now, inspecting the ingredients was really interesting for our research team.
You may be surprised at what we found…
Buy the Best:
Blue Star Nutraceuticals Blade claims to help you:
- Promote energy levels
- Boost fat burning
- Improve focus
Blade’s producers are proud to say that their product has „triple the strength“ of their previous flagship formula.
But does stronger mean better? Or could it lead to side effects?
In this case, we’ll find out by inspecting the ingredients in Blue Star Nutraceuticals Blade:
Blue Star Blade Ingredients
When it comes to the ingredients, Blue Star Blade is a mixed bag of everything.
In it, you’ll find ingredients such as green tea which is great for boosting your metabolism and burning fat.
But you’ll also find ingredients which aren’t supported by science.
In addition, Blade contains Yohimbe which is an aggressive stimulant.
When you pair it with caffeine and other stimulants in this supplement, the effect could be too much.

Have a look for yourself:
Similarly to cayenne pepper, sweet pepper contains thermogenic compounds. This includes capsiate which heats up your body temperature and makes you burn more calories. But the effect is not as strong as with cayenne pepper. (1, 2)
Carnitine is thought to boost your energy levels and metabolism leading to fat loss. But the issue is, our body naturally produces carnitine. So adding more may not provide any additional benefits. Studies show that you need at least 2g of supplemental Carnitine to gain some benefits, if any. (3) Adding a meager 400mg (the dose in Blade) to the mix is unlikely to help you burn fat.
Green tea is one of the most potent natural thermogenics you’ll find. The active components of green tea are called catechins. These stimulate your body to produce norepinephrine which raises your core temperature. This, in turn, makes your body burn more calories as it tries to bring its own core temperature down. You’ll also get the added fat-burning benefits of caffeine since green tea contains some. (4)
Speaking of caffeine, Blue Star Blade uses a lot of it. In fact, they use 225mg per serving in addition to the caffeine in green tea. While this may be fine for some, high amounts of caffeine can cause side effects such as anxiety, heart palpitations, and high blood pressure. Otherwise, caffeine is a great addition to a fat burner. It increases your focus, energy levels, and metabolism – all key benefits for getting those results in the gym. We’re just concerned that the total caffeine dose in Blue Star Blade may be over the top. (5)
Synephrine or Bitter Orange Extract is one of those ingredients you don’t really want in your system. It has aggressive properties which, when mixed with green tea and caffeine, can put you at risk from racing heart, anxiety, insomnia, and other health issues. (6)
Yohimbe is another aggressive stimulant shown to cause side effects in users, ranging from heart palpitations, high blood pressure, to full-blown anxiety episodes. Combining it with caffeine and other stimulants could prove even worse. Data shows that there have been more than 130 hospitalization in California between 2000-2006 due to yohimbe. This is why many countries have banned yohimbe from supplements and food. (7)
In studies, Fumarate has shown promises as an antioxidant. This means it helps fight free radicals in your body. But that’s as good as it gets. There’s no proof Fumarate will help you burn fat.
XD Delivery Technology™
And now we come to the worst part about Blue Star Blade, and that’s the proprietary blend. Yes, we too were unhappy to see another supposedly premium fat burner using a blend which masks the doses of ingredients in it. There’s nothing premium about it. You can’t see the doses nor can you determine whether the ingredients in the proprietary blend will work or not.
Let’s have a look at what’s inside Blue Stars Fat Burner:
- AstraGin (Panax Notoginseng and Astragalus Membranaceus) – Panax Notoginseng has very little research showing its benefits for fat loss. Astragalus Membranaceus helps reduce inflammation but other than that, doesn’t do much for fat burning.
- Sodium Alpha-Lipoic Acid – ALA is an antioxidant and chelating agent. In theory, the idea is to take it with L-Carnitine to decrease blood sugar levels. But we haven’t seen any reputable evidence showing it will make you lose fat.
- Bioperine – Doesn’t have fat-burning properties, but helps with the absorption and bioavailability of other ingredients in Blue Star Blade.
- Succinate – No effects on fat loss. Succinate is an additive that regulates food acidity.
Blue Star Blade Dosage
The instructions say you should take 2 capsules (one serving) of Blue Star Blade, 2 times per day.
However, the secret to getting the dosage right is to start off low, with just 1 capsule per day.
Once you know your tolerance, you could take more.
Just make sure not to take Blue Star Blade 5-7 hours before you go to sleep. This fat burner contains some of the most aggressive stimulants we’ve seen, which can wreak havoc on your sleep and damage weight loss.
One bottle of Blue Star Blade has 120 capsules. So if you take the recommended 2 servings (4 caps) per day, the bottle will last you one month.
Side note: This supplement could also use more daily servings. You want a constant trickle of fat burning ingredients in your system for optimal results; 3-4 per day would be optimal, 2 just isn’t enough.
Since it contains so many stimulants, Blue Star Blade comes with a host of side effects.
The two main problems with this fat burning product are Yohimbe and synephrine.
Synephrine is an aggressive ingredient which can stimulate you into a frenzy when you combine it with caffeine and green tea. This could lead to side effects such as:
- High blood pressure
Yohimbe, on the other hand, can cause digestive issues, heart problems, and panic attacks in intolerant people.
For this reason, we recommend avoiding these ingredients.
Blue Star Blade Review Conclusion
We’re not sold on Blue Star blade. It’s ingredients are fairly risky and it is a bit expensive. That said, our current best product has a similar price, but the ingredients are more effective and dosed better.
