Cellucor P6 Original is a natural test booster. It is made with the sole purpose of helping you raise your anabolic hormones. Naturally this leads to benefits such as:

  • Muscle gains
  • Energy
  • Vitality and performance
  • Metabolism

Now, test boosters are tricky supplements. If you’ve ever looked for one before, then you know the choice is almost endless. And it’s hard to tell what works and what doesn’t.

Luckily that’s why we’re here – to cut through the BS and show you what’s worth the money and what’s not.

In this Cellucor P6 Original review, we’ll look through the product’s ingredients with a fine-tooth comb. This will tell us how effective this T booster is and whether it comes with any side effects.

Our Top Testosterone Boosters

Who Makes P6 Original?

Made by Cellucor. If you ever looked into sports and fitness supplements, you probably heard of them before. While Cellucor P6 Original is one of their more successful formulas, they produce everything from sleep supplements to pre-workouts.

Benefits

How does Cellucor P6 Original work?

First off, it’s a testosterone booster, and as such it’s aimed at improving your masculinity and energy levels.

Test boosters work by encouraging your body to produce more of the androgen hormone. This can result in the following benefits:

  • More gains
  • Faster muscle recovery
  • Higher energy levels
  • More positive mood

However, not every T booster works that well as you know. Above all, it has to have all the right ingredients.

Is Cellucor P6 a Natural Testosterone Booster?

Yes. Cellucor P6, or any testosterone booster for that matter, isn’t even comparable to steroids.

While steroids involve injecting hormones into your body, testosterone boosters like Cellucor P6 Original are completely legal and natural. They use vitamins and various herbs to naturally support your T levels, helping you reach your goals in the process.

Now, it’s true that some testosterone boosters, even though natural, can produce side effects. Read on to find out if that’s the case with P6 Original.

Ingredients

The Cellucor P6 Original formula is all but original. It uses the same ingredients we’ve reviewed countless times already.

Now, this wouldn’t be a problem if these ingredients actually worked for testostserone. But many of them don’t.

Cellucor P6 Original Ingredients

Once you look at the label, you quickly realize that Cellucor P6 Original threw all the ingredients in a proprietary blend.

We’ve always avoided proprietary blends. Simply because there’s no reason for the manufacturer to hide the ingredient doses that are crucial for you the customer, to know.

Ashwagandha

Reduces stress and supports strength gains.

Leading the way in P6 Original formula is Ashwagandha. This herb is also known as an adaptogen, which means it helps your body cope better with stress.

Ashwagandha also shows benefits on testosterone, muscle building and recovery in strength-trained men. It’s a great ingredient for when you’re working out and want to results faster. (1)

But, ashwagandha needs to come in an optimal dose to work. Since its dosage is masked in P6 Original, we can’t tell if it’ll work for you or not.

Fenugreek

Raises testosterone at the cost of DHT (another anabolic hormone).

Cellucor P6 Original uses Fenugreek seed extract to support your performance and testosterone. However, the way in which Fenugreek works is rather odd.

It blocks certain enzymes in your body which convert testosterone to estrogen. This is great.

But Fenugreek also blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT at the same time. This is not so great. DHT is arguably even stronger than testosterone at certain things, and therefore, reducing it just to have more testosterone might not be the brightest idea. (2)

Ovine Placenta Powder

Unproven ingredient.

Does this ingredient need any introduction? You’ve guessed it, it comes from sheep’s placenta.

Now, we don’t know about you. But we’re pretty disgusted by the thought of ingesting this ingredient. You can certainly find much more appealing and effective options for a testosterone booster in this case.

Agaricus Bisporus Fruit Extract

A good source of nutrients.

This ingredient is also known as a common mushroom. It has certain nutrients like selenium that support your overall health. We aren’t buying its marketed ‘testosterone boosting properties’ though.

Stinging Nettle Root Extract

Suppresses nasal and prostate inflammation.

This is a common ingredient to find in a testosterone booster. As you could’ve guessed by the name, it comes from the root of stinging nettle, a plant that you’ll find growing pretty much everywhere.

It’s a great ingredient for fighting a common cold. But it’s not overly potent in terms of boosting your androgen hormones. (3)

Eurycoma Longfolia LongJack

Raises your libido.

LongJack is one of the go-to ingredients for many men when it comes to maintaining their sex drive and performance.

This is certainly one of the better ingredients in Cellucor P6 Formula for masculine health. Although it does fail in the testosterone boosting department. (4)

DIM

Might boost estrogen metabolism.

DIM, or if you fancy long introductions – 3,3′-Diindolylmethane – is an ingredient with a bit of controversy behind it. While it’s claimed to boost estrogen metabolism, some evidence suggests that DIM can boost the female sex hormone in your body. (5)

Plenty of premium test boosters use DIM so we won’t say it’s a bad ingredient. An unproven one would be a better word. From our experience, ingredients like DIM need more evidence before we can recommend them to our readers.

Anything Missing?

A couple of our top testosterone boosting ingredients are missing from Cellucor P6 Original. These include:

These include:

  • Vitamin D – This is a foundational ingredient in any T booster. Works like a charm for supporting your muscle growth, energy levels, and mood. (6)
  • Magnesium – Shown to raise both free and total testosterone levels, regardless if you’re an athlete or an inactive person. (7)
  • Zinc – Plenty of research shows that zinc deficiency can lead to mood problems and low testosterone levels. And it’s not hard to be low in this mineral. (8)
  • Boron – A trace mineral that boosts your physical and mental strength by raising your body’s natural test production. (9)

As you can see, there are quite a few big omissions in Cellucor P6 Original. Not adding vitamin D in a testosterone booster is like not adding caffeine to a pre workout – sure, the product might still work, but how strong will it be? That’s a topic for another discussion!

How to Take (Dosage)

So, how do you take Cellucor P6 Original testosterone booster?

The best dosage is 2 capsules in the morning and 2 capsules in the evening.

The label says you can take it with or without food. We’d still recommend taking it with food to ensure proper absorption of the fat-soluble ingredients.

Regardless of how you decide to take it, make sure not to exceed 4 caps per day.

Side Effects

Supplements from big brands like Cellucor are generally safe. However, just because it’s popular doesn’t mean it will work perfectly for all people.

For example, if you suffer from autoimmune disease, stay away from Ashwagandha. The reason is that Ashwagandha strengthens the immune system, which is something people with the condition don’t want.

Even if you’re healthy, it’s always best to talk to an expert before trying any supplement for the first time. This way you can know for sure if you’re safe to use the product.

Most users are saying the supplement is okay and works fine. One person said Cellucor P6 helped them quite a lot.

Is Cellucor P6 Original Good Value For Money?

The answer depends on where you buy it. If getting Cellucor P6 Original on Amazon, then the price goes down a lot. Also, what kind of results are you looking for? A boost in libido and perhaps more energy in your day to day life?

Cellucor P6 does work, but it’s let down by the fact that it uses a proprietary blend. We aren’t the biggest fans of those!

Conclusion on Cellucor P6 Original Review

So that brings us to the end of this Cellucor P6 Original review.

This testosterone booster comes from one of the world’s biggest supplement brands. But if we’re being honest, it’s been a disappointing show by Cellucor. The so called test booster lacks some key T boosting ingredients, including vitamin D and zinc.

The positive thing about P6 is that it will boost your libido and energy levels. Now, it’s up to you to see if these benefits are worth the cost.

We think it’s best to do proper research before buying any supplement. This way you make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck.
