Dallas McCarver skips 2017 Mr. Olympia
In a recent Question & Answer with his main sponsor on Youtube, Dallas McCarver confirmed that he will not be competing at the 2017 Mr. Olympia.
Dallas is not qualified yet as he does not have a win in 2017, but he would of had a great chance to qualify with points if continued to compete and get top three placings.
Dallas stated that his main goal was to win one of the Arnold Classic contests, but this did not happen.
Dallas has the frame of mind to win a Arnold Classic contest to qualify for the Mr. Olympia.
So, it is either win or nothing for Dallas and his team. What will happen in 2018 if Dallas does not win a Arnold contest? Will he not compete in other contests to earn points to qualify?
Hearing this from competitors does sound negative. This makes us respect those competitors that are consistent in placing in the top five and gaining points to get to the Olympia even more. They practically stay on diet all year to earn as many points as they can to qualify for the Olympia. It is a hard way to qualify, but they do manage to get on the Olympia stage. As well, the fans can look forward to see more athletes on stage battling between each other.
So basically, if Dallas does not win an Arnold or another major competition, he will shut it down for another year. Is this fair for the fans?
