Evan Centopani hints at retirement.
Bodybuilding star, Evan Centopani, has revealed that he will most probably never compete again.
Centopani revealed the news of his retirement, on a Telegram chat with a number of other bodybuilders. Evan explained, that he was very happy with what he has accomplished in his career, and he has no desire to compete again.
“I have not formally announced anything, but the odds are I am not competing again. How do I feel about that? Honestly, I feel fine.
“It’s not like something that bothers my ego, I am thrilled with everything I was able to achieve, over the years.
“I feel I have nothing else literally to prove, I mean, it has to end sometime and I look forward to all the other things I have going on.” – Evan Centopani.
Evan was a very successful bodybuilder from the first time he started competing within the NPC.
In 2005, Evan won the Overall title at the Atlantic States Championships.
In 2006, Evan had no diffculty in winning the overall title at the NPC Junior Nationals in the Super-Heavyweight division.
In the same year, Evan finished in second at the NPC Nationals in the Super-Heavyweight division. He was edged out by Desmond Miller.
2007 would be the year that Evan earns his pro card. He would go on to win the NPC Nationals Overall title, defeating a number of bodybuilders that would go on to have very successful careers.
At his first pro show in 2009, Evan shocked the bodybuilding world when he won the New York Pro, edging out the larger Dennis James and Markus Ruhl.
Between 20011 and 2016, Evan would win the Flex Pro (2011) and the Tampa Pro (2013).
Centopani would be a regular top five finisher, with his highest finish at the Arnold Classic being third in 2012.
2016 would be the last year Evan competed on the pro circuit. Placing eighth at the Arnold Classic USA and fifth at the Arnold Australia.
In 2017, Centopani suffered a serious tear in his leg tendon. The contest season was about to start when this horrific injury happened.
