“Fake glutes on stage, they want you to take so many drugs” – Alyssa Rose

“Fake glutes on stage, they want you to take so many drugs” – Alyssa Rose.

The USA’s first NPC/Pro League Wellness athlete, Alyssa Rose, has quit competing professionally just weeks before the 2021 Chicago Pro.

Alyssa published a long message on her official Instagram page, to explain the reason why she has decided to quit the sport she loved so much.

Competing in the newest division added to the NPC/Pro League lineup, Alyssa decided to get out of the sport before she does more harm to her body.

Stating the main reason for leaving the sport was due to health reasons, Alyssa’s shocked many in the industry with her comments.

“Given the direction Wellness has quickly turned into, I will no longer be competing, as that is not my ‘body goals’ and I have absolutely no desire to look that hard and dry. I find that look for me, personally, to be unattractive, and extremely unhealthy- heck I was already making unhealthy choices by competing.

“After my pro debut, I was planning to do the Chicago Pro this upcoming weekend, I had a lot of anxiety, until my trip in Hawaii for 10 days allowed for a big epiphany.

“My head was spinning after my pro debut: fake glutes on stage, they want you to take so many drugs, I have to compromise my femininity and hormones- going that route I may never have the opportunity to conceive children, etc,” Alyssa explained.

It is a known fact that PED’s (Performance Enhancing drugs) are widely used in the sport of bodybuilding and fitness.

The male and female hardcore bodybuilders and physique competitors are usually singled out for their use of PED’s. Mentioning the use of these substances in the bikini and wellness divisions, does not happen very often.

Alyssa being honest and deciding to leave the sport for a healthier life, will surely make her fellow competitors think twice about what they are doing.

Continuing to explain her decision, Alyssa said “I let go of my goal of ever winning an Olympia or a Pro show… I’ve been In the fitness industry closely since I was 19 years old. I’ve been around and seen it all to be aware. This is the best decision I’ve made for my life.”

What next for the Wellness division?

The NPC/Pro League does not test their amateur or pro athletes. Athletes that use substances such as synthol to enhance their muscles, will either be marked down by judges or disqualified.

With Alyssa revealing that her fellow wellness athletes are using PED’s and have fake glutes (Buttock Augmentation), the NPC/Pro League will surely have to change the way they judge the athletes.

Even in the bikini division, many female athletes have had severe problems in regards to hormone balance after competing at a high level for many years.

“I’ve been around and seen it all to be aware”

Will wellness athletes be punished for having glutes that have been enhanced?

Is it acceptable for the athlete to enhance her glutes as she enhances her breasts?

Will other wellness athletes follow Alyssa’s lead and expose these methods?

Will the NPC/Pro League create new rules to protect the athletes health?

Many more questions will be asked and they will need to be answered.

As the NPC/Pro League, its promoters and partners are earning very good money thanks to these athletes, their health should be top priority.

It’s already bad enough, the financial award for these athletes is very low for the work they put in to prepare for an event.

Is it worth having to go through glute enhancements and take PED’s just for a $500 prize? Surely not.

Alyssa Rose’s message in full

**IMPORTANT READ IN ITS ENTIRETY: Why I am never competing again** Bringing it back to my prep files for a glute pump day at 2 weeks out!

“My goal the last prep was to bring fuller glutes than when I won my pro card, with more lines and muscle fullness. I definitely achieved that!

“I brought the look that I felt represented Wellness best based on the feedback I was given and I’m super proud of that.

“Given the direction Wellness has quickly turned into, I will no longer be competing, as that is not my “body goals” and I have absolutely no desire to look that hard and dry.

“My head was spinning after my pro debut: “fake glutes on stage, they want you to take so many drugs, I have to compromise my femininity and hormones- going that route I may never have the opportunity to conceive children, etc.”

“I couldn’t look past the consequences. I found more cons than pros at this point. The list runs long and deep, and I will share my excessive amounts of reasoning at another time. Essentially, I would have to choose competing as my life over anything else. Admit it or not but everything else suffers when you’re competing all the time.

“So I let go of my goal of ever winning an Olympia or a Pro show… I’ve been In the fitness industry closely since I was 19 years old. I’ve been around and seen it all to be aware. This is the best decision I’ve made for my life.

“I am not knocking those for making the choice to continue to compete at the pro level, we are all on our own journey and have our own reasons. I also support many people who compete until the national level, I find that intimate journey to be quite different.

“But, I’m staying true to myself! I always saw a life after competing and had goals set for when that time came. Now I get to work on them even sooner!

“I’ve been on a healing journey the last three months hormonally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. It’s been incredibly uncomfortable, as it’s difficult to let something go especially, when it mirrors systematic toxic dynamics to childhood wound cycles (that’s where all of this roots back to, the core and subconscious reason people compete is compensating for something traumatic/ disordered in their past, in hopes to fill that void by seeking external validation) but my ego has reformed far beyond that now…

“Competing is no longer in alignment with me.

“My soul journey calls for a fruitful life far deeper than my physical vessel looking a certain way.

“My goal here is to only share my personal experience, and those who are aren’t awake will disagree- this post may even trigger some, and that’s okay!

“My intention is only to wake others up—coming from someone who had “Ms. Olympia”
On her vision board for 6 years.

“I’ll continue to share my experience as I feel adequate,” Alyssa Rose.

Evolutionofbodybuilding.net commend Alyssa for stepping up and being honest about what is happening behind the scenes in the wellness division.
