Gold's Gym forced close

Gold’s Gym forced to close over 30 locations due to coronavirus.

The coronavirus continues to cause havoc all over the world.

The deaths are rising and financially the world is on the brink of shutting down with all the closures.

Every major operation is at a standstill in every country all over the world and the fitness industry has been hit hard by this.

Gym’s were forced to close in the majority of countries due to the coronavirus threat.

The bodybuilding competition season is basically shutdown with all major competitions from every major federation being cancelled or postponed.

To add more misery to the situation, the biggest gym franchise in the world has just announced it is closing more than 30 gyms across the USA.

Gold’s Gym has just announced on their official social media pages that they have been forced to permanently shutdown over 30 company-owned gyms.

Official Press Release:

Gold’s Gym has been the world’s trusted fitness authority for more than 50 years, and we’re absolutely not going anywhere. While the COVID-19-related closures have caused us to reassess the viability of some company-owned locations and make the difficult decision to permanently close about 30 gyms, we know that we will emerge from this stronger and ready to grow.

This decision affects only company-owned gyms, mainly in our St. Louis, Alabama and Colorado Springs markets, and does not have an impact on any of our franchise-owned gyms. Our focus is and always will be on our members in nearly 700 gyms in 29 countries around the world, and we look forward to welcoming you back as soon as it is safe for our members, team members and communities.

As Gold’s Gym is suffering due to the coronavirus, a number of other gyms might follow by shutting down permanently.
