Hadi Choopan defeats Big Ramy to win the 2022 Mr. Olympia.

Hadi Choopan has made Mr. Olympia history by defeating Big Ramy to win the 2022 Mr. Olympia title.

Hadi Choopan, a man that has to battle US immigration, just to get into the USA and compete, has managed to accomplish an amazing feat.

The 2022 Mr. Olympia presented one of the deepest lineups in the history of the sport.

Hadi Choopan presented a near-perfect physique, with condition that nobody could match and the perfect balance of size to go with this frame.

Hadi was moved all over during the callouts, keeping the fans and athletes in suspense during the entire competition.

Finishing in second was Derek Lunsford. Derek managed to get into the Mr. Olympia thanks to a “Special Invite”. The 2021 Men’s 212 champion, decided to move up to the Men’s Open Division and try his luck against athletes much bigger than him.

Derek could have easily finished in first, but Hadi’s had the edge with his super dry condition. Regardless it was a great result for Derek on his Mr. Olympia debut.

Nick Walker, the young athlete who was determined to win this Mr. Olympia, placed third on his second Mr. Olympia appearance.

Moving up two places from his fifth-place result in 2021, Nick Walker also presented an incredible physique, with hardness that not many bodybuilders could match.

Nick will remain a contender for the title, and we can be sure he will be back in 2023 to try and snatch the Sandoe trophy away from Hadi Choopan.

A shock result for many was Brandon Curry’s fourth-place result. The 2019 Mr. Olympia champion, was runner-up in 2020 and 2021 to Big Ramy.

Hoping to win this year, Brandon will have to regroup and decide if he wants to continue his goal of winning a second Mr. Olympia title.

The biggest shock of the evening was Big Ramy’s result. The best result the defending champion could do was fifth.

It was evident from the beginning that Big Ramy would be losing his title, as he was placed on the side during the pre-judging session.

Unfortunately for Big Ramy, he did have the size, but his physique did not flow compared to the rest of the lineup.

It still remains to be seen if Big Ramy does return to try and reclaim his title, but it will definitely be an uphill battle for the two-time champion.

A number of athletes had some disappointing results, such as Hunter Labrada, Iain Valliere and William Bonac. These results of these athletes will be the subject of numerous discussions in the coming weeks.
