Bodybuilding star King Kamali admitted on RxMuscle.com that he does not like Hadi Choopan.
In a recent podcast, with Dave Palumbo, Milos Sarcev, and Siddique Farooqi, King Kamali revealed that he does not like 2022 Mr. Olympia Hadi Choopan, on a personal level.
While admitting that Choopan is a fantastic bodybuilder, Kamali has no positive words to say about his fellow Iranian bodybuilder.
When the Palumbo asked Kamali why he does not like Choopan, Kamali had this to say:
“I think the bodybuilding world knows I don’t like Hadi. I will always give him credit for being one of the best bodybuilders.”
Dave and Milos asked Kamali again why Kamali does not like Choopan, and Kamali continued:
“Because he’s a douchebag, that’s why. He’s disrespectful okay, and he has a God complex. When he returned to Iran, after winning the Mr. Olympia, everybody was lifting him on their shoulders, and then he does an interview on one of the top Iranian national TV stations, it’s like their CNN.”
“During the interview, they asked Choopan what they think about me, and Choopan answered, who?”
The rest of the panel started laughing and told Kamali, that is the reason he does not like Choopan, it’s because he did not acknowledge him.
During the early 2000’s Kamali was a very popular bodybuilder, and on several occasions, while being interviewed on the popular show “Pro Bodybuilding Weekly,” was very outspoken, and called out a few of his fellow competitors, such as his biggest rival, Craig Titus.
Kamali would have no problem challenging his fellow competitors on stage, and even during press conferences before an event.
When comparing bodybuilding competition resume’s, while being one of the most outspoken bodybuilders in the history of the sport, Kamali is right in admitting that Choopan is a great bodybuilder, as Choopan has a Sandow trophy in his trophy cabinet, while Kamali’s highest placing was fourth during his professional career.
In regards to popularity, while Choopan is one of the best bodybuilders in the world, Kamali’s popularity exploded after he retired from the sport of competitive bodybuilding. Kamali is still in high demand as a bodybuilding pundit and trainer. Kamali is also still very popul in Iran.
Kamali speaks English very well and has the edge over Choopan in this area. Hadi will suffer in regards to marketing his image outside of Iran, even though he has won the Mr. Olympia title.
