IFBB announces 2025 Mr. Universe in Austria – The home of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The IFBB has recently announced on their social media, that the historic Mr. Universe event will take place in Austria, the home of bodybuilding legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The event will take place in Hitzendorf, Austria, on 23-25 May 2025, at the modern Kirschenhalle, a multifunctional 1500 m² sports and event hall.
The IFBB Mr. Universe is a historic event as Arnold Schwarzenegger won the overall title at the 1969 IFBB Mr. Universe event at the beginning of his bodybuilding career.
in 1969, Arnold Schwarzenegger made a name for himself, winning the overall IFBB Mr. Europe, Mr. Universe, and placed second at the Mr. Olympia to Sergio Oliva, on his debut.
The 2025 IFBB Mr. Universe will be a celebration of bodybuilding history, taking place in the home country of Arnold Schwarzenegger, just minutes away from his childhood home, which is now a very popular museum, dedicated to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s life.
Arnold Schwarzenegger went on to become one of the world’s most popular movie stars, and the Governor of California, but he never forgot about his bodybuilding roots.
Organizing the very popular Arnold Sports Festival in various countries, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s beginnings started with the help of Joe and Ben Weider, the founding fathers of the IFBB, and the 2025 IFBB Mr. Universe will be a celebration of bodybuilding history and competition at the highest level.
The event will be organized by Walter Stückler & Jörg Kapfer from IFBB Austria’s National Federation.
Until further details are announced, the event will be an IFBB Pro qualifier, and an IFBB Pro Universe event could also be included.
