IFBB/IFBB Elite Pro 2020 Review: The craziest year in bodybuilding history.

2020 can go down in history as the craziest ever season in bodybuilding history.

The reason for such a crazy year is obviously due to Covid-19 causing havoc all over the world.

This review will focus on the IFBB and IFBB Elite Pro league.

Every sport organization had to either cancel or postpone all their events, suffering heavy financial losses.

The sport of bodybuilding and fitness could not hide from the Covid-19 disaster, having some of the biggest shows on the competition schedule cancelled or postponed.

Everything came to a halt in March with Covid-19 spreading at a fast rate all over the world.

IFBB President Rafael Santonja and his executive committee did not sit back and let the virus destroy all the athletes hard work. Quick and decisive decisions were made to save the major competitions such as the Arnold Classic Europe, IFBB European Championships, IFBB Amateur World Championships and finally the IFBB Elite Pro World and World Master Championships.

A number of IFBB Federations still managed to organize their National Championships and the IFBB Diamond Cup and Elite Pro shows as well. This helped in selecting athletes to represent their countries at the IFBB’s international competitions.

2020 IFBB European Championships

The 2020 IFBB European Championships is a week long event that is usually scheduled for May, but due to very strict Covid-19 restrictions, the event was rescheduled for September 2020.

The best amateurs from all over Europe still managed to prepare and travel to this prestigious event considering all the difficulties that surrounded them.
