2021 Mr. Olympia: Kai Greene continues to tease fans.
The Kai Greene – Mr. Olympia saga is back again with Kai Greene back to teasing fans about his return to the competition stage.
Dave Palumbo revealed that Kai Greene sent him an exclusive video that showed Kai Greene performing a posing routine.
Publishing the video on his personal Instagram page Dave reveals that Kai asked him for his advice in regards to how he looks.
“@kaigreene sent me this video and asked me my opinion on how I thought he looked and my opinion on whether he should do the Olympia… I said “Win the Olympia; no regrets!” … I believe he will do the show and if this is where he’s starting from… we should expect to see an incredible final product!” – Dave Palumbo
Kai Greene sent two videos to Dave Palumbo, one was a posing routine with Kai wearing pants and the second was a video with Kai just wearing posing trunks.
Nobody can deny that Kai Greene still looks fantastic, but since 2016, the bodybuilding world has only seen Kai Greene on his own, never standing next to another high-profile bodybuilder.
After seeing these videos, it seems that Dave is convinced that Kai Greene will compete at the 2021 Mr. Olympia, but it is easier said than done.
With very few Mr. Olympia qualification opportunities available, Palumbo believes that Kai should receive a “Special Invite” to compete at the 2021 Mr. Olympia.
Receiving a ‘Special Invite” will surely not go down well with all the other competitors. These competitors have been suffering all year trying to earn their Olympia qualification.
Kai Greene does not deserve a “Special Invite”, nothing has stopped him from competing. Kai had every opportunity to compete at the various qualifiers throughout the year.
Publishing these type of videos can help Kai Greene in many ways, he is now using the industries media to help him.
These videos not only creates more speculation about his Mr. Olympia ambitions, but they are also helping him promote his main sponsor and also his own brand.
With Redcon1 sponsoring Kai Greene, it would be expected that Kai competes at a major competition to push his sponsors brand.
Even with these videos circulating, Kai Greene is promoting his sponsor some way or another.
Kai was also not invited to the 2021 Arnold Classic, a competition that he loves and won on a number of occasions.
Will Kai compete at the 2021 Mr. Olympia?
Will Kai Greene receive a “Special Invite”?
These are the two questions that we will unfortunately continue to hear every year, until Kai Greene officially retires.
With such a deep lineup already taking shape at the 2021 Mr. Olympia, it will be very difficult for Kai Greene to not only win, but place in the top three.
If Kai Greene does compete and fails miserably, how will this affect his career?
If Kai Greene wins, how will the bodybuilding world react?
Winning the Mr. Olympia will not solve all of Kai Greene’s problems. The bodybuilding critics will continue to say that Kai Greene did not defeat Phil Heath or even Shawn Rhoden.
Kai Greene’s best chance to win the Mr. Olympia was in 2019. Phil Heath did not compete due to his injuries, while Shawn Rhoden was denied his chance to defend his title due to his legal problems.
The title was up for grabs and Kai Greene was not there to take advantage of the situation. Brandon Curry was the best man on the night and he walked home with the prestigious Sandoe trophy.
Kai Greene must still have the confidence and belief that he can win or he is not calculating the capabilities of the younger generation of competitors.
Kai Greene must do more to convince his fans and the media as they are now just seeing these videos as a waste of time.
