Kamal Elgargni moves up Open Division Tampa Pro

Kamal Elgargni moves up to the Open Division for the Tampa Pro.

Bodybuilding star, Kamal Elgargni has confirmed that he is competing at the 2022 Tampa Pro in the Open Bodybuilding Division.

Kamal Elgargni is one of the most successful athletes in the history of the sport. Winning multiple Asian and World Championships with the IFBB, he then switched over to the NPC to win the 2018 Arnold Classic and 2019 Mr. Olympia 212 events.

During a live interview on his sponsors official Instagram page, Kamal confirmed that he is competing at the Tampa Pro, 4-6 August 2022.

Kamal is lifetime qualified for the 212 Olympia, but he has decided to move up to the Open Division and challenge for that title, and a possible qualification for the Mr. Olympia, in the Open Division.

The decision of Kamal competing in the Open Division in Tampa, will surely worry his fellow competitors.

A number of high profile athletes have not yet qualified for the 2022 Mr. Olympia, and they are focusing on the Tampa Pro to get qualified, but now they have Kamal in the mix.

With Kamal in the mix, the game plan of a number of competitors will surely have to be changed.

The modern day “Giant Killer”

212 Olympia winner Shaun Clarida has already qualified for the Mr. Olympia by winning the 2021 Legion sports Fest Pro. Shaun still has not confirmed if he will be competing in the 212 or Open Division at the 2022 Mr. Olympia.

After his victory, Clarida was the named the modern day “Giant Killer”, after he defeated competitors such as Sergio Oliva Jr., Regan Grimes and Maxx Charles.

During his very successful amateur career, Kamal has defeated a number of athletes who were much bigger than him to win overall world titles.

Going into the Tampa Pro, Kamal will most probably be the most conditioned athlete on stage, and that could be a very big problem for his fellow competitors.

At the age of 50, Kamal can still easily defeat the best bodybuilders in the world and deny them qualification for the Mr. Olympia.

If Kamal does win the 2022 Tampa Pro, he will surely add more excitement to the 2022 Olympia Weekend, and most probably compete in the Open Division.

At 50, Kamal is not far from retirement, event though he still has a world class physique. Having the dream opportunity to compete in the Open Division at the Mr. Olympia, will be an opportunity he will surely not want to miss before he retires from the sport.
