New IFBB Nordic Federation Offers Bright Future for Bodybuilding.
The IFBB welcomed members from various IFBB-affiliated federations from the Nordic region.
IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja welcomed his guests at IFBB’s headquarters in Madrid, Spain.
In a significant step for the bodybuilding and fitness community, the presidents of the Nordic federations gathered to officially establish the Nordic Federation.
The meeting marked a milestone as the Nordic Constitution was approved, laying the foundation for increased collaborative growth and development in the region.
The newly formed federation will also invite the Baltic countries, such as Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, further expanding its reach and fostering unity among neighboring nations.
During the session, the Acting Committee was appointed, featuring a distinguished group of leaders:
President: Ms. Aino-Maija Laurila
Executive Director: Mr. Ergo Mestla
Vice Presidents: Ms. Lise Marie Sommerstad, Stellan Bossen and Mr. Rachid Misk
Treasurer: Mr. Jan Fotmeijer
Chairman of the Judges Commission: Mr. Rachid Misk
Chairman of the Coaches Commission: Mr. Ville Isola
The creation of the Nordic Federation is set to enhance cooperation among the Nordic countries and strengthen the region’s presence in the global fitness and bodybuilding community.
This landmark event highlights the shared commitment to fostering excellence and unity across the sport.
This newly formed Nordic Federation will guarantee more opportunities for amateur and pro athletes affiliated with the IFBB, with new events being organized all over the Nordic region.
The new Nordic President, Ms. Aino-Maija Laurila, has vast experience in the sport of bodybuilding and fitness, as an athlete, coach, judge, and official.
