New talent takes center stage at 2023 IFBB-Malta National Championships.
The 2023 IFBB-Malta National Championships took place at the beautiful Corinthia St. George’s Bay Hotel, St. Julians, 15 April, 2023.
The IFBB-Malta National Championships, is a historic bodybuilding event in Malta, with numerous athletes launching their successful bodybuilding careers, thanks to this event.
Not long ago, the IFBB Malta National Championships, was the only main bodybuilding event in Malta, attracting a large number of local athletes, aiming for the top prize, and qualification for the prestigious IFBB European Championships.
Things have changed drastically under the guidance of IFBB-Malta President Ralph Decelis, and his hard working committee.
IFBB-Malta now hosts two local events, and three international events. The local events which are organized are the IFBB-Malta National Championships, and The Battle, taking place on 16 August, 2023. Giving more opportunities to the local athletes.
The international events attracts some of the best amateur, and pro athletes, from all over the world. In 2023, IFBB-Malta will be organizing the IFBB Diamond Cup Malta, which takes place on 14 May, 2023. Following that event, the IFBB-Malta International GP /IFBB Elite Pro World Masters Championships, takes place on 24 September, 2023.
Finally, on 19 November, 2023, the IFBB Mediterranean Championships, will again be organized in Malta. With Malta being in the center of the Mediterranean, it has become the ideal location for this prestigious event.
With so many events taking place in Malta, the experienced local athletes, have moved on to competing at the international events, organized in Malta.
Every year, a new star is born at the IFBB-Malta National Championships, and the 2023 edition is no exception.
With nine divisions available, local athletes had numerous choices of where they would feel most comfortable participating in.
Focusing on bodybuilding, newcomer Svein Falzon, caught the attention of everybody attending, with his great combination of size, and conditioning.
After winning the Men’s Bodybuilding title, Svein can now move on to international events, such as the Diamond Cup, or even the Mediterranean Championships.
Kelsey Colerio, confirmed her status as one of Malta’s top bikini athletes, after winning the IFBB-Malta Bikini National Championship title,, and now qualifying for the 2023 IFBB European Championships.
Men’s Physique Champion, Ryan Delia, dominated his class, and has also qualified to represent Malta at the 2023 IFBB European Championships.
At the end of the event, IFBB-Malta’s judges, call out all the winners of the senior open divisions.
The judges then select who they believe will be the best representative at the IFBB European Championships, that takes place in Santa Susanna, Spain, 2-8 May, 2023.
Bikini champion, Kelsey Colerio, and Men’s Physique champion, Ryan Delia, were the two athletes selected to represent Malta at the IFBB European Championships. Both athletes will have their flight and accommodation paid by IFBB-Malta.
