Make or break for Nick Walker at the 2021 Mr. Olympia.
Nick Walker has gained great success at such a young age. At just 27 years old, Nick has won a number of major titles and now he is focusing on the 2021 Mr. Olympia title.
Nick has done some great things as a competitive bodybuilder after winning his pro card in 2019. Nick has won two prestigious contests, the New York Pro and just recently the Arnold Classic.
Nick is not scared to put his reputation on the line and predict that he will win a contest. He said that about the New York Pro and the Arnold Classic. He proved all his critics wrong and won both events.
Walker is on the shorter side of the line-up, but he compensates by presenting a physique with incredible condition, size and balance.
Not the most aesthetic pleasing bodybuilder, such as Sergio Oliva Jr. or Cedric McMillan, but the judges award him for his overall condition.
The next challenge for Nick will be the 2021 Mr. Olympia. Nick has already started his comments about other bodybuilders and himself.
This is good for the sport of bodybuilding as it add excitement to the sport, something that it has been lacking for a number of years.
But now, Nick has much more to lose, if he does not get a good placing at the 2021 Mr. Olympia.
Before Nick won the Arnold Classic, he is on record saying that he is going there to win. Every bodybuilder has this goal, but Nick is on record saying this and he received backlash from the media and a number of fellow competitors. He proved all his critics wrong.
Proving all his critics wrong at the 2021 Mr. Olympia will be a very difficult task for Nick Walker. Even if he comes in similar or even better than his presentation at the Arnold Classic, Nick will still have a large mountain to climb to crack the top five.
The line-up at the 2021 Mr. Olympia is at a higher level compared to the other pro events that Nick competed at, in the last two years.
“The Sandow is staying in the states” – Nick Walker
Walker will stand next to athletes he defeated, but at the same time, he will have to compete against bodybuilders at a much higher level.
Defeating the much bigger Iain Valliere and Steve Kuclo is one thing, but trying to defeat, Big Ramy, William Bonac, Brandon Curry, Hadi Choopan, James Hollingshead, Hunter Labrada, Nathan DeAsha and others might be a difficult task.
Nick is yet to compete against the majority of the above mentioned athletes and already, with just these names mentioned, we are looking at seven places.
Placing in the top ten at his first ever Mr. Olympia would be a fantastic accomplishment for the rookie bodybuilder, but how would Nick handle this?
To be considered one of the best, you have to compete against the best, and that is what Nick is about to do at the 2021 Mr. Olympia.
The build up to the 2021 Mr. Olympia has been fantastic, with defending champion Big Ramy’s coach, Chad Nicholls saying “I absolutely love everybody’s excitement but I encourage everyone to bring a f***ing coat,” and Nick replying “There’s no winter in Orlando.”
The latest post from Nick is, “The Sandow is staying in the states.” This will surely get people talking.
This is what makes the Mr. Olympia exciting and it is great seeing the younger bodybuilders, such as Nick, not back down from the bigger, much more experienced champions.
The Mr. Olympia press conference will surely be an exciting event, especially when the Big Ramy, William Bonac and Nick Walker have their say.
If Nick does not get the result he intended to, the media and fans must keep quiet. Even 8x Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman started from the back of the line-up and worked his way up.
If Nick had to retire from the sport of bodybuilding today, he already has two major pro wins, the New York Pro and the Arnold Classic. Winning the New York Pro and Arnold Classic in the same year, is incredible. Some of the best bodybuilders in the history of the sport have never accomplished what Nick has done in such a short time.
We still believe Nick is one of the best in the industry at the moment, and he has a great future ahead of him. The sport of bodybuilding is based on criticizing and comparing a physique in the fairest way possible. This is the job of the media and we have to do this in the fairest, unbiased way possible.
