The sport of bodybuilding has become very complex and sometimes dangerous.
From the amateur to the pro athlete, performance enhancing drugs (PED’s) are used on a regular basis, some use an extreme amount.
Steroids help athletes to grow and recuperate faster, but at the same time, if used excessively, PEDs can cause serious harm.

The NPC/Pro League have the finances to put together a system to help athletes stay healthy and arrive at every pro show healthy. A team of doctors could be hired to keep track of all the athletes and guide them accordingly.
At least two or three times a year, the NPC/Pro League must enforce every pro athlete to show a clean bill of health before they compete at a competition.
The NPC/Pro League should force every promoter to ask for a clean bill of health from every pro athlete before registering for an event.
Echocardiogram (ECG) and blood work must be done by every pro athlete. The problem is that many athletes only get their blood work checked, but this will not identify a heart problem, such as clogged veins.
The pro athletes compete for cash prizes, but at the same time, the show promoters and the NPC/Pro League make a lot of money from these athletes. It’s in the best interest for the athletes and the sport for for everybody to be in their best health.
In these steps are not taken in the near future, bodybuilding as a sport as we know it, might end forever.
