Olympia Weekend organizers reveal new automatic qualification rules.
The Olympia Weekend organizers have officially announced a new rule change that will add more excitement to the sport of bodybuilding.
The new automatic qualification rule will start at the 2023 Olympia Weekend.
In the past few years, the organizers of the Olympia Weekend, awarded automatic qualification for the top five finishers in every division for the following year.
With the top five athletes earning automatic qualification, this meant that the best athletes did not need to qualify for the next Olympia Weekend.
The automatic qualification rules were great for the competitors, but the same cannot be said for the fans and the promoters.
During the competition season, bodybuilding and fitness athletes have to compete and win an event to qualify for the Olympia Weekend.
Promoters would do everything in their power to try and convince the most popular athletes to compete at their event. The athletes that are not qualified for the Olympia Weekend will need to compete, but the most popular bodybuilding and fitness stars are most probably already qualified, thanks to their top five placings. This means they can just focus on one event, which is the Olympia Weekend.
The Olympia organizers have decided to make the qualification for the 2024 Olympia Weekend more interesting by reducing the automatic qualification placings from the top five to the top three.
This means that two more top athletes from each division will need to qualify for the Olympia Weekend, making the contest season more exciting.
Bodybuilding and fitness fans will welcome this change with open arms.

Who Automatically Qualifies for Next Year’s Olympia?
Here at the Olympia, we pay close attention to the hundreds of Olympia qualifier events held around the world. In recent years, the top 5 finishers in the Mr. Olympia division have received an automatic qualification to the following year’s Olympia, but after consulting with the IFBB Pro League we have decided to make a change.
Starting with this year’s event, only the top 3 in the Mr. Olympia will automatically qualify for the following year’s Olympia. We are making this change in an effort to add some additional star power to the various regional events held worldwide.
This change is being made with the full support of the IFBB Pro League as we all share an interest in maintaining a system that strengthens events at all levels.
