Over 300 athletes compete at IFBB’s World Championship events in Tehran, Iran.
The beautiful city of Tehran, Iran, a excellent event was organized by IFBB‘s Iranian federation. The IFBB Junior Men’s World Championship, Master and Senior Men’s Cup, and the IFBB Men’s Fitness Challenge World Championship were all organized by the Iranian federation.
The event took place between 7-10 December 2022, at the modern Azadi Sport Complex.
The event was an IFBB World Ranking Event, with points awarded to the top athletes.
IFBB Elite Pro cards were only awarded to the Master competitors.
At the IFBB Junior Men’s World Championships, Mexico’s Junior Barajas was the overall winner in the bodybuilding division, Iran’s Iman Jebeli Omid was victorious in Men’s Physique and Mahmoud Zoghi took the Men’s Fitness title home.
Successful athletes at the IFBB Master Men’s Cup were Iran’s Hamed Rezai in the Men’s Physique division, while Mahmoud Zoghi also won the Men’s Fitness in the Masters category.
Another successful event that was included was the IFBB Men’s Fitness Challenge World Championship. These fitness events are fast becoming popular all over the world, with the IFBB including them at the majority of its main events.
The preparation and high-level of competition was at the highest standard, proof the sport of bodybuilding and fitness is very healthy in Iran and its neighboring countries.
During his visit to the Championships, IFBB President Rafael Santonja visited the Iranian Olympic Committee to discuss future international events.
The event in Iran received great support support with all the press reporting the event, with the event also being featured on Iranian TV news.
