Nick Walker has earned his qualification for the 2024 Mr. Olympia, by winning the 2024 New York Pro.
The event took place on 18 May 2024, with the top athletes in the Pro League competing in nine divisions: Men’s Open, Men’s 212 Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, Men’s Physique, Bikini, Women’s Bodybuilding, Figure, Women’s Physique, and Wellness.
The focus was on the Men’s Open Bodybuilding event, with Nick Walker going into the show as the favorite.
From a lineup of 20 athletes, Nick’s victory was not an easy one, as he had to be at his best to win the top prize.
Nick had to go up against defending champion Tonio Burton, and Martin Fitzwater, who had just won the 2024 Detroit Pro, just a few weeks earlier.
From the moment the athletes stepped on stage, it was evident that the battle for the top prize would be between Nick Walker and Martin Fitzwater.
After prejudging, there was a chance that Martin could possibly defeat Nick Walker.
Martin has a more pleasing and balanced physique compared to Walker, but Nick was the most conditioned bodybuilder on stage. While Martin was in fantastic condition, Nick had the edge when standing next to each other.
If Martin can come in harder at the 2024 Mr. Olympia, we could see him going up against Nick for a top placing.
Third place went to Tonio Burton, who also presented a fantastic physique. Tonio still has to qualify for the 2024 Mr. Olympia, but with such an incredible physique, he should have no problem winning one of the next events.
To round off the top four, 2023 runner-up, Stuart Sutherland had to settle for fourth place. Stuart presented a physique with a good amount of muscle mass, but when it came to the back poses, the top three had the edge over him.
