Sad news today that Pro bodybuilder Mark Antonek has passed away.

Shawn Ray reported the news on Muscular Development’s forum.

This is what Shawn had to say

“I sadly have to report the passing of Mark Antonek, class of 1983.

He was a 911 first responder and while in his 40’s, finally achieved his dream of becoming a professional IFBB body builder. Shortly after, Mark was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.

A true fighter, he battled the devastating disease these past few years. It is unknown at this time what the cause of death was. He was a great friend and a father who loved his kids.

He had a great sense of humor that I will miss and I will always remember his intentional, obnoxious laugh. God bless you mark. No more pain. There will be many that will miss you.”
