Square to be named after Big Ramy in his hometown.
Two time Mr. Olympia Big Ramy is on top of the world after winning his second Mr. Olympia title, but bigger things are being prepared for him in his home town of Kafr El Sheikh.
Bodybuilding is a very big sport in Egypt and neighboring countries; having a bodybuilding star such as Big Ramy is a very big deal for his hometown.
At the 2021 Mr. Olympia, Big Ramy secured his second Mr. Olympia titles, etching his name in bodybuilding history. It is being predicted that Big Ramy could have a long run of victories on the Olympia stage.
After his victory in 2020, his hometown erupted in celebrations and Big Ramy was treated as royalty from the people and event the government.
It was a hard road to the top for Big Ramy, registering a number of wins and coming close to the Olympia title on one occasion, Big Ramy had a number of coaches that could not find the perfect formula.
Finally, Big Ramy decided to team up again with his former coach and mentor Dennis James and also hire Chad Nicholls as his dietitian or in other words his ‘Guru’.
Success on the Mr. Olympia stage propelled Big Ramy to stardom and his hometown recognized his incredible accomplishments.
In a recent post on “The Cairo Scene“, it was reported that Big Ramy is going to have a square named after him in his hometown of Kafr El Sheikh.
The Govenor of his hometown made the official announcement.

BIG RAMY TO HAVE SQUARE NAMED IN HIS HONOUR IN HOMETOWN OF KAFR EL SHEIKH
After winning the coveted Mr Olympia title For the second year in a row, Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay is set to receive the highest of honours, with the Governor of his hometown, Kafr El Sheikh, announcing that the city’s largest square will be named after him.
Big Ramy has been highlighted as an example for Egypt’s youth, his persistence and determination leading him to global fame in bodybuilding. Born in Kafr El Sheikh in 1984, he started his professional career in 2010, before going on to win a number of international bodybuilding competitions before reaching the zenith of his career, being crowned Mr. Olympia – first in 2020, then again this year.
A striking contrast compared to his fellow competitors from other countries, such as the USA and Canada.
While Big Ramy is being hailed as a hero and an example for Egypt’s youth, bodybuilders in other countries are rarely promoted or even mentioned by the local press.
