Terrick El Guindy calls out young coaches and gurus

Terrick El Guindy has worked in the bodybuilding industry for several years, is known as an Olympia judge, and works as an Olympia TV Director.

In the recent edition of Olympia TV, Terrick El Guindy went nuclear on young coaches.

Terrick warned all athletes to be careful of who they work with, especially the young coaches who are now starting to rise in the industry.

When it comes to making money, there will always be people who will do anything possible to make a profit, even experiment with the health of an athlete, but this does not mean 90% of the coaches are “con artists” as Terrick said on the podcasts.

Terrick el Guindy also asked if any of the young coaches have any college degrees in sports science or any other related courses in relation to sports and fitness.

Terrick’s comments can easily result in a huge backlash from the industry, as 90% of the coaches do not have a college degree in anything related to sports nutrition.

Another point that Terrick has to be careful with is saying not all coaches have experience in Performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs).

One important fact that Terrick is forgetting, is that no coach can legally prescribe any medical drug such as PEDs.

While Terrick was making these accusations, he should have turned to Chris Cormier, and asked him if he had any qualifications, other than experience.

Young and Veteran coaches can be successful and deadly

It’s the athlete that should do their homework, and check the background and track record of any coach, young or old.

Terrick should know, that the same coaches that he praises and works with, allegedly all have had serious mishaps with athletes, with some resulting in death, and the same coaches did not take any responsibility.

Yes, there are fake coaches on the internet, but just because a new coach has a good track record, and publishes his or her success, this does not mean they are a fake.

All the veteran coaches started from somewhere. Some after a long competitive career, and others found out the stage is not for them, but they will have more success coaching.

One coach can’t handle hundreds of athletes, and that is why it opens up the doors for athletes to look for new and younger coaches.

Money is also a big factor, as some of the veteran coaches charge very high rates, and allegedly a few never even meet their clients, especially on the amateur level.

In recent years, several athletes have contacted Evolutionofbodybuilding.net about veteran coaches, who are very popular in the industry, who allegedly took their money and never gave them the promised service.

The majority of young coaches will start working with clients at the regional or national level, attending the events of their clients, and making sure everything is going as planned.

And what if a young athlete manages to help a client win a high-profile event, or even the Olympia, where does that put them in Terrick’s books?

The veteran coaches will have hundreds of clients, but they will most likely attend the high-profile events, and on several occasions, will not even attend those events, regardless of how much money the athlete paid them.

Terrick suggests coaches should be regulated

Terrick mentioned that coaches are not regulated and certified in the bodybuilding industry. Terrick has opened a can of worms with this comment.

There is not one coach who is certified to do what they do in the bodybuilding industry by the NPC/Pro League. If the sport was completely natural, he might have a point, but the use and abuse of PEDs are extremely high, and not one coach has the authority to prescribe PEDs, which means no coach can be certified.

Who’s responsible for an athlete if they suffer serious health complications due to the use of PEDs? Is it the athlete, or the coach that recommended which drugs to use?

This has been a very sensitive subject, and Terrick should have done his homework before he made those comments on the Olympia Weekends official podcast.

Online Coaching Applications – Good or Bad?

Terrick also warned athletes about all the new online coaching applications, offering coaching and diet services.

This was also another dangerous comment, that might have a backlash, as some of the biggest stars in the industry have created online coaching applications.

Popular figures in the industry, such as 4X Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler, Shawn Ray, Bob Cicherillo, and many more, have launched websites that offer coaching and diet services.

If thousands of young athletes use these services, it’s obvious that the owners of the channels will not be handling all the athletes, they will allegedly have other people, that we know nothing about, taking care of all the clients.

Olympia TV known for controversial comments

It’s not the first time the guests on Olympia TV put the show and the Olympia Weekend organization in a bad light.

The comments of Terrick and some of the regular guests have allegedly caused a serious backlash from the industry.

Terrick and the regular guests should remember they are representing the Olympia Weekend, which means, that if they want to make controversial comments or speak about controversial subjects, they should have their own podcast.

Speaking about PEDs, coaching, and other sensitive subjects related to athletes will also be controversial, and if they want the sport to go mainstream, these subjects should not even be discussed on such a channel. There are already too many negatives about the sport of bodybuilding and fitness.
