The Aliens Guy wants cameras banned from gyms.

In the past few months, several gym owners have banned the use of cameras at gyms, and Giorgio A. Tsoukalos has something to say about it.

Members have become frustrated with the so-called influencers, calling them out when they walk in front of them, just to complete their workout.

One person, in particular, has recently vented his frustration about these so-called influencers, making it difficult for some gym members to train in peace.

Giorgio A. Tsoukalos, better known as “The Aliens Guy“, the host of the very popular show, Ancient Aliens on The History Channel, has spoken out about this problem.

Many of our readers must be saying, “What does this alien guy have to do with bodybuilding?”

Many will be surprised that Giorgio was heavily involved in bodybuilding during the late 80s and 90s with the IFBB.

Giorgio worked very closely with Joe and Ben Weider, but it was the legendary bodybuilding promoter, Wayne DeMilia who introduced Giorgio to the sport of bodybuilding.

While working close to Wayne DeMilia, Giorgio learned a lot about the sport of bodybuilding and everything about running a show.

The Aliens Guy has something to say about cameras in the gym.

In a recent post on his official Facebook page, “The Aliens Guy”, Giorgio Tsoukalos, has vented his frustration about the so-called influencers using cameras during their workout, and frustrating the other innocent members.

“Back in the day, when I was an IFBB pro bodybuilding contest promoter, photographers had to get special permission to take pictures, or film, in any gym, come hell or high water.
How have handheld devices suddenly changed this long-standing, and common sense, rule?”
“It seems like the main responsibility for this unacceptable behavior by rude gym members (who film themselves and are upset when someone crosses their shot and then call them out just to get clicks) is on the gyms themselves (and their owners) who allow for this nonsense to happen.”

“Especially some innocent sap doing their own thing in the background or someone walking “into someone’s shot” while, in reality, they just walked to wherever they were going at the gym, minding their own business. The nonfluencers’ behaviors have gotten out of hand to be “upset” about this and calling these innocent people out. End it.”
“Ban the use of personal cameras at gyms and let’s all call it a day. It’s done elsewhere, so what are gyms waiting for? More protein?”
“The gyms themselves encourage this narcissistic bully behavior by those pretentious nonfluencers; there isn’t a no-film clause in any of the contracts members have to sign to join.”

Giorgio made some valid points, and the use of cameras is getting out of hand, with the so-called influencer instigating an alteration with an innocent gym member, just for the sake of getting more “followers” or “likes.”

Cameras have a time and place

There is a time and place for cameras at the gym. If an established influencer, or athlete, wants to promote themselves or record one of their workouts, they should arrange with the gym owner, when it’s the ideal time to record their session.

The gym members should also be notified in advance, that there will be cameras at the gym.

The member’s privacy should be taken into consideration. Maybe the member does not want to appear on social media. Some members use the gym as therapy, and all they need is some young kid walking around with a camera, disrupting everybody’s workout.

Hopefully, gym owners will take notice of Giorgio’s rant, and the gym members who use cameras will have some etiquette.
