In this edition of Crazy & Wacky World of Bodybuilding, we take a look at the new IFBB Pro athlete membership rules, bodybuilders exploding to 300 pounds, Big Ramy’s possible return, Rubiel Mosquera, Arnold vs Manion, and more.
Jim Manion’s IFBB Pro Athlete Membership Controversy
Earlier this week, Jim Manion’s IFBB Pro League published their updated Pro Athlete membership rules, to then make a U-turn, and amend them after a backlash from the bodybuilding community.
To summarize, new pro athletes that have earned their pro status after 2024, will have to activate their new pro card in the first year, if not, they will have to requalify to become a pro.
If a Pro membership is activated, they have up to three years to renew their membership if they are not active. If the membership is not renewed in that time frame, they will have to requalify to become a pro.
Pro athletes who earned their pro status before January 1, 2024, can remain IFBB Pro’s if they do not pay their membership. If they do activate their membership, the three-year rule applies.

Bodybuilders gaining massive size in the off-season.
There are many fantastic pro bodybuilders, but a select few are close to the 300lbs mark or have exceeded it.
Bodybuilders such as Mr. Olympia Samson Dauda, Derek Lunsford, Andrew Jacked, Nick Walker, Sergio Oliva Jr., Regan Grimes, and many more, have reached the freak factor.
Is bodybuilding heading towards another mass monster era? With athletes such as Samson Dauda, Nick Walker, and Andrew Jacked, it will be very difficult for the smaller athlete to defeat these giants.
Is Big Ramy going to compete at the 2025 Mr. Olympia?
Earlier this week, rumors started to spread that two-time Mr. Olympia champion, Big Ramy was going to return to the competitive stage, and compete at the 2025 Mr. Olympia.
The source of this news was traced back to his sponsor, but at the time of publishing this article, no other confirmation had been made.
Rubiel Mosquera’s off-season has started.
It seems that bodybuilding star, Rubiel Mosquera, has had enough of traveling and enjoying his off time.
It looks like Rubiel has started his contest prep with his coach Francisco Espin.
It’s still not known if bodybuilding legend Chris Cormier is still going to be a part of Rubiel’s team.
New Pittsburgh event is a Big problem for Arnold and Columbus.
Jim Manion’s new 2025 inaugural Pittsburgh Power & Fitness Festival, is going to be a big rival to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s, Arnold Classic.
Both events will have large pro events, and as well an expo, featuring the best brands in the industry.
Both Arnold and Manion will be hoping to be the biggest event, just after the Olympia Weekend.
