Juan Morel and Zane Watson earn Olympia qualification in Toronto.
Juan Morel was the winner in the bodybuilding open class, going one better than his second place at the 2018 New York Pro a few weeks back.
The battle was between Juan Morel and much improved Akim Williams. The victory could of went both ways, but it was Juan who was victorious at the end.
Cedric McMillan managed to place third. Many would expect more from Cedric as we all know if he is close to 100% he would be unbeatable.
Fourth place goes to the man that made a fantastic comeback, Antoine Vaillant. Small mid-section and wide round shoulders was the perfect look for Antoine, but the open class is a size game and unfortunately Antoine lost out on this, but considering it is his first show after a long time away from the stage, this is a fantastic result.
To finish off the top five, Rafael Brandao would take the fifth spot. Moving up, one spot from the New York Pro and two spots down from the California Pro, Rafel is being consistent and with these placing he will surely make it to the Olympia stage.
Moving to the 212 class, it would be Canada’s favorite, Zane Watson taking home the top prize. After narrowly losing in New York, Zane Watson looked to be the clear favorite to win in Toronto, but this contest would not be so easy.
Zane ended up having to fight a great battle with the young Cody Montgomery. Cody had confirmed that he would move down to the Classic Physique class earlier this year, but it seems he found the 212 class to best suit him. With his second place finish, this should give Cody the drive to continue competing to qualify for the Olympia.
Third place would go to Mahmood Al Durrah.
