Travel issues force Lionel Beyeke to pull out of the 2021 Arnold Classic.
French bodybuilder, Lionel Beyeke was forced to pull out of the 2021 Arnold Classic due to travel restrictions between France and the USA.
There is a lot of hype surrounding the 2021 Arnold Classic. The lineup for this years Arnold’s is one of the best in recent years.
Some of the best athletes in the industry were invited to participate at the 2021 Arnold Classic. This event is also the last chance for the top bodybuilders to qualify for the 2021 Mr. Olympia.
Lionel was set to make his second appearance since 2018, by competing at the Arnold Classic later this month.
However he revealed in an Instagram post that, due to the travel restrictions preventing him from traveling from France to the United States, he will not be able to compete, missing his second straight Arnold Classic competition.
In a long message, Lionel explained in detail, the situation he is facing:
“I want to thank all of you, my supporters, followers and fans for all the encouragement. It is truly priceless.
“I had planned to make 2021 a special year because of all the difficulties brought on by the pandemic. I prepared for competitions and even changed my coaching team and strategies to be in the best shape of my life.
“My good friend and brother @georgefarah_guru is still the main man for my technology and I acknowledge his significant contribution thank you brother.
“Unfortunately, the scourge of the virus has prevented French citizens from gaining entry into the US in time for me to compete and achieve my objectives. One of these objectives that I have not been able to fulfill is to be able to participate in the Arnold Classic 2021 this year. This is a regret that I must put behind me as I continue to work hard to be even better for the upcoming competitions which I hope to be be able to attend.
“Another one of those plans for this year I intend to go forward with is the introduction to the world of my new Trainer @strongsteel1969 Ricardo Gardener.
“Ricardo has been a godsend to me and reinvigorated my approach to nutrition and the results have been amazing. @strongsteel1969
“Ricardo is Canadian and is a Master Trainer with more than 30 years in the field of bodybuilding and nutrition. He is like a scientist in his field and also a graduate of the Lee Haney School of Fitness Instructors.
“So I would like to release my latest photos across my social media platforms as I also unveil Ricardo Gardener Master Trainer to the world.
“I know that this year has also had setbacks but I press on with the hope that things must get better as I and my team believe in the Almighty God and “who God bless, no man curse”.

Hopefully, 2022 will be a better year for Lionel. Covid-19 seems to still be causing problems for a number of athletes in the industry, preventing them from traveling to compete.
