When will Rubiel Mosquera compete again?
Bodybuilding star, Rubiel Mosquera, is a hot topic on social media, with bodybuilding fans and professional athletes debating whether he’s going to compete at the final three events of the 2024 season.
Rubiel earned his pro card at the 2023 EVLS event in Prague, to then compete at the pro event and place third during the same weekend.
Following his great performance in Prague, legendary bodybuilder, Chris Cormier, praised the young athlete, labeling him the next Ronnie Coleman.
Rubiel would skip the Arnold Classic USA and UK in 2024, to finally compete at the Dubai Pro in July. Rubiel had to settle for fourth place, behind Behrooz Tabani, William Bonac, and Nathan De Asha.
Without a victory in 2024, Rubiel would fail to qualify for the 2024 Mr. Olympia.
Not all is lost for Rubiel in 2024, as he still has a chance to compete at the 2024 Romania Muscle Fest (November 9-10), EVLS Prague Pro (November 16-17), and finally the Bigman Weekend Spain Pro (December 1).
The controversy about Rubiel started after the recent footage published on his social media pages. Rubiel does not look like he will be ready for the Romania Muscle Fest, and possibly the EVLS Prague Pro.
Several bodybuilding media channels alleged that Rubiel had dropped out of the EVLS Prague Pro, but this was not confirmed by the athlete himself.
EVLS is one of Rubiel’s sponsors, adding more controversy to the situation if Rubiel does not compete in Prague.
Bodybuilding star, Michael Daboul, criticized Rubiel heavily, suggesting that his sponsor EVLS, should rip up his contract.
IFBB Pro Eric Abelon also vented his frustration about Rubiel not competing.
The comments were made on the popular Instagram page, Whoisthebestbb.
Many bodybuilding fans are starting to already allege that Rubiel is a waste of time, and is just too lazy to step on stage.
While Chris Cormier continues to support his young protege, it will be a matter of time before Cormier starts to lose faith in Rubiel.
Rubiel might be a freak of nature, but bodybuilding fans want to see him on the professional stage and hopefully qualify for the Mr. Olympia.
If Rubiel does skip the next few events, bodybuilding fans will not be happy, and just as they praised the young athlete in 2023, they can easily forget about him.
