YouTube suspends RxMuscle violations

YouTube suspends RxMuscle for policy violations.

RxMuscle’s YouTube channel has been given a one-week suspension for policy violations. This news was confirmed by Dave Palumbo himself on his official Instagram page.

According to Dave Palumbo, they are restricted from uploading any material until Friday, 23 September 2023.

Dave explained that the suspension was due to their violation of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) policies.

“RXMuscle’s YouTube channel has been assessed a one-week suspension. The channel is active, and all videos are viewable. We will, however, be unable to post any new videos until Friday. In the meantime, we will be live-streaming all content on the RXMuscle Facebook page,” concluded Dave Palumbo.

With hundreds of videos on RxMuscle’s video library, focusing on PEDs and medical information, it will be very difficult to point out which video triggered this suspension by YouTube.

What does this mean for RxMuscle’s YouTube account?

At the time of publishing this article, all of RxMuscle’s videos are still available to watch, but they cannot upload any new material.

Dave Palumbo confirmed that he will use his other social media channels to publish his material this week.

With over 305,000 subscribers, the possibility of losing this channel would destroy the RxMuscle brand. The channel has been online since February 2009.

A few months earlier, bodybuilding’s most popular YouTube channel, Bodybuilding & BS, was taken down immediately, without any real explanation, according to its owner Nick Trigili.

After spending weeks, trying to recover his channel, Nick has moved on to other social media networks to publish his material, such as Rumble and Spotify.

This will definitely be a wake-up call for the other popular bodybuilding and fitness podcasts. The majority of channels discuss the use of PEDs and other substances that go against YouTube’s policies. IF YouTube starts enforcing these policies, more channels will be suspended in the near future.

The downside of losing a YouTube channel is the loss of lucrative financial awards from monetization. The majority of bodybuilding networks solely rely on YouTube as their source of income.

YouTube updates its “Medical Information” Policies

YouTube has recently updated its policies in regards to medical information. The news about these new updates were made official last August.

YouTube’s new policy updates will be a cause of concern to the majority of bodybuilding and fitness channels, that discuss the use of Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs), and other related substances.

YouTube’s official blog, explains in detail the new medical policy updates, these are the main points:

  • Prevention misinformation: We will remove content that contradicts health authority guidance on the prevention and transmission of specific health conditions, and on the safety and efficacy of approved vaccines. For example, this encompasses content that promotes a harmful substance for disease prevention.
  • Treatment misinformation: We will remove content that contradicts health authority guidance on treatments for specific health conditions, including promoting specific harmful substances or practices. Examples include content that encourages unproven remedies in place of seeking medical attention for specific conditions, like promoting caesium chloride as a treatment for cancer.
  • Denial misinformation: We will remove content that disputes the existence of specific health conditions. This covers content that denies people have died from COVID-19.

One of the main updates to YouTube’s policy is removing videos with false information about cancer treatments.

The information about YouTube’s policies, which can affect the bodybuilding and fitness industry, can be found at the following links:

• Medical misinformation policy

• Illegal or regulated goods or services policies

No channel is safe on YouTube, they can shut down any channel without any explanation, no matter how many subscribers you have. The biggest mistake for any media company is to rely on YouTube as their only source of income.
