Results and Photos: Nick Walker wins the 2021 New York Pro.
Nick Walker wins the prestigious 2021 New York Pro to earn his Olympia Qualification.
The New York Pro is the biggest contest after the Olympia Weekend. With the Arnold Classic falling off the map, the top athletes focused on this weekends competition.
In the build up to the show, it was a battle of words between Nick Walker and Blessing Awodibu.
Blessing instigated the war of words, but when the smoke cleared, the last man standing was Nick, while Blessing finished in sixth place.
It was evident the battle was between Nick and second place finisher Justin Rodriguez.
The judges worked them hard, putting them through the poses until they found their winner.
The humble Hassan Mostafa had to settle for third. Hassan presented an incredible balanced physique, packing a lot of muscle, but he needed a bit more condition.
Hassan’s presentation most probably will win an event and qualify for the Olypia, but at the New York Pro, the top two were much more harder and defined.
Dorian Haywood placed fourth at the Indy Pro and had to settle for fourth this weekend at the New York Pro.
Dorian also presented a balanced physique, but he could improve on his condition. Dorian needs a bit more work on his back, to pose a challenge for the top placings.
Fifth place went to Russia’s Mokamed El Eman. A disappointing placing compared to his second at the Indy Pro last weekend.
Mokamed is not lacking size, but again, it all comes down to condition.
The popular Blessing Awodibu had to settle for sixth place. Not lacking condition, Blessing has to add much more sie to his frame if he wants to challenge for a win this season.
Compared to the top five competitors, Blessing could not go up against them.
The giant from France, Morgan Aste had to settle for sixth. Overpowering his fellow competitors in regards to size, it was not good enough when compared to the rest of the lineup.
The 212 division saw Nathan Epler improve on his second place at the Indy Pro, to also earn his Olympia Qualification.
The difference in 212 is condition, a lot can happen in a week between contests. This weekend was proof that placing can move around in just seven days.
John Jewett improved by placing second compared to third last week at the Indy Pro.
Noel Adame is another athlete that did his homework after the Indy Pro. He improved two placings by finishing third at the New York Pro.
Well done to Derik Oslan by taking fourth. A big improvement from his ninth place finish at the Indy Pro.
Finally to round up the top five, Justin Randall improved from sixth to fifth compared to last week.
The Olympia Weekend is already looking like an exciting contest, with Nick Walker earning his qualification.
The 2021 Mr. Olympia will be a showcase of younger talent. something we have not seen for a number of years.
