Official Retirement
Fouad Abiad, has just recently, announced his official retirement from the sport of professional bodybuilding.
In his latest video, on his very popular YouTube channel, Fouad explained the reasons for his retirement.
Recent injuries and the deaths of a number of his close friends in the industry, convinced Fouad that he did not need to compete for the last time.
Fouad was planning to retire at the 2021 Toronto Pro show, but made a u-turn and decided his health was his first priority.
Retiring from the sport of bodybuilding does not end Fouad’s contribution to the sport. Fouad has a very successful supplement and sports attire business, plus his very successful YouTube channel.
Dream Opportunity Arrives
It is no secret that Fouad always dreamed of commentating for a major bodybuilding event. He is on record saying on many occasions, that he would love to have the opportunity to comment for the Arnold Classic or even he Mr. Olympia.
On a recent interview with Dennis James last July 2021, the subject of Fouad being a co-host as a commentator was brought up. Fouad was thrilled and thanked Dennis for bringing up this subject.
Dennis James said that he will try to make this work, and four months later, Fouad’s dream finally came true.
In the same video that he announced his official retirement, Fouad announced that he was contacted by the organizers of the Arnold Classic. Fouad was offered the opportunity to commentate on the 2022 Arnold Classic with Dennis James.
Fouad is known for his calm and articulate voice and as well his very honest opinion of bodybuilding and competitions.
Many believe that Fouad’s partnership with Dennis James is a breath of fresh air for the sport of bodybuilding.
With Covid-19 still disrupting many events, and keeping bodybuilding fans from traveling to events, watching an event from home has become the new trend.
With pay-per-view on the rise, the job of the commentator has become much more important.
In recent years, the bodybuilding community have been accustomed to listening to the same commentators at every main event.
The sport of bodybuilding is evolving and every part of an event must evolve as well.
