Dan Solomon meets Phil Heath… Possible return to 2022 Mr. Olympia?
President of the Mr. Olympia, Dan Solomon, has been keeping himself very busy lately. From promoting the Mr. Olympia and meeting various celebrities and athletes, Dan is making sure, the right people will be at bodybuilding’s biggest weekend.
Dan Solomon is one of the hardest workers in the bodybuilding industry. Being the top man of the Olympia Weekend, is no easy task. Being a people person, Dan knows how to get the right people at the biggest event of the year.
Dan also knows how to keep bodybuilding fans on the edge of their seats, leading up to the big event.
Just a few weeks ago, Dan Solomon and Olympia Weekend owner, Jake Wood, visited Flex Lewis at his gym, The Dragon’s Lair. This was not a secret meeting, as Dan published the video on the Olympia Weekend’s official social media pages.
Dan, as usual, did not show the entire video and until publishing this article, the second part has not been published.
Did Jake Wood and Dan Solomon visit Flex Lewis’ gym for a workout? or a protein drink? or did Dan officially invite Flex Lewis to compete at the 2022 Mr. Olympia?
With bodybuilding fans still asking questions about Flex Lewis, Dan again, switched things up and had a four hour meeting with 7X Mr. Olympia, Phil Heath.
The meeting with Phil Heath made the bodybuilding world buzz with excitement. Does Dan want Phil Heath to be the next Mr. Olympia ambassador? Is Phil Heath going to return to competitive bodybuilding?
On 18 December, 2022, the last day of the 2022 Olympia Weekend, Phil Heath will be celebrating his 43rd birthday.
If would be a fantastic celebration if Phil Heath returned to the Mr. Olympia stage and compete with the best athletes in the world.
Returning to the stage in 2020, after losing his title in 2018, to the late Shawn Rhoden, Phil Heath finished in third place, behind Brandon Curry and Big Ramy.
Phil had to stay away from the bodybuilding after undergoing two major hernia surgeries. Phil was not 100% in 2020, but still proved he can compete with the best in the industry.
Phil Heath rarely publishes photos without his shirt, but before the meeting with Dan Solomon, Phil published a photo, showing a much improved midsection. As it looks, Phil has corrected his distended midsection.
If Phil Heath decided to return to the competitive stage this year, it is obvious he will not be the same Phil Heath that won his first Mr. Olympia title in 2011. But, if Phil can return close to his best, he can be a threat and challenge for the title.
Even during his time off from competition, Phil continued to train and keep his physique in the best possible condition.
If Phil does compete, he might not play the size game and present a more refined physique, displaying the fantastic 3D look that he is known for.
The meeting between Dan and Phil leaves a lot of questions unanswered. But we can be sure, as the 2022 Olympia Weekend gets closer… they will all be answered.
