Michal Krizo vs Blessing Awodibu in 2017 – Will they meet again?
Since Michal Krizo switched over to the NPC, he has caused quite a storm in the bodybuilding industry.
Michal has been competing successfully for a number of years, with the IFBB and IFBB Elite Pro.
After turning pro in 2017, Michal has dominated the IFBB Elite Pro, winning every major title, which includes the Arnold Classic Europe and Africa, the IFBB Elite Pro World Championships amongst others.
In 2022, Michal decided that it was time to move on and he relinquished his IFBB Elite Pro status to start fresh with the NPC.
No matter how successful Michal was with the IFBB Elite Pro, to earn his pro status within tghe NPC/Pro League, he has to start as an amateur.
This weekend in Italy, Michal will be competing at the Amateur Olympia Italy, to try and win his pro status within the Pro League. If Michal does earn his pro status, he will compete at the EVLS Prague Pro and try to win his qualification to the 2022 Mr. Olympia.
Competing against the Blessing Awodibu in 2017
Way back in 2017, during his amateur days with the IFBB, Michal Krizo would meet Blessing Awodibu on stage at a competition in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Michal published a video of the entire battle on stage between him and Blessing.
In the introduction, Michal’s coach, Alexander Hlobik, explained that Blessing was already an accomplished amateur athletes, winning overall titles at several events in 2017.
In Ostrava, Blessing managed to edge past Michal to win the title, with Michal finishing in second.
It was evident, Blessing was the better bodybuilder, but in the video, Michal jokingly says that now the tables have turned.
In 2017, Blessing would have numerous opportunities to turn pro, but he went on to win the Overall title at the Arnold Classic Europe, to cement his status as the best amateur bodybuilder at that time withing the IFBB.
Meanwhile, Michal Krizo would earn his pro status at the EVLS Prague amateur show at the end of 2017, this would also earn him his pro status. On a side note, Michal will be fighting for his pro status again in 2022, but with the NPC.
2017 was a very complicated year, as the IFBB and NPC went their separate ways, causing some confusion for the athletes.
The new pro athletes had a time frame to decide which federation they would compete with. Blessing Awodibu would continue his career with the NPC/Pro League and Michal would compete with the newly formed IFBB Elite Pro league.

It did not take long for Blessing to comment about the competition footage between him and Michal, on Michal’s Youtube page.
Blessing said that when Michal eventually turns pro, he will have no problem to win pro events in Europe, but when he steps on stage with the bigger bodybuilders in the USA, he won’t have an easy time.
Michal’s big arms and shoulders, are not enough according to Blessing. Blessing believes that Michal is lacking a good midsection, back development and condition, to keep up with the high level of competition in the USA.
“Haha good memory but don’t start talking smack, you didn’t beat me and you will never beat me lol . I’ll give you some advice though, for you to win or place top 3 in any big IFBB pro League shows, you will win small European shows no problem, but to do well here in the US , you need a better midsection, better back & crazy condition, big arms n round shoulders isn’t enough. You awesome though n hopefully one day we’ll be on that stage again together.” – Blessing Awodibu

In the video, Michal added to the fun by saying that Blessing posted a photo with him on Instagram, this is what Michal had to say.
Blessing: “That time I smoked the guy on the left last year as an amateur winning the 1st of my 4 overalls / pro qualifying wins that year #2017 .
“Welcome to the big league big guy we’ll do this again soon.”
Michal: “Blessing published a post on Instagram welcoming me to the Pro League and saying that I can expect to lose against him again… I responded that I am already a level ahead of you… It’s all fun.”
We can expect these two bodybuilders to meet on the pro stage in the near future. It will be an exciting battle between Michal and Blessing.
It must be remembered that Blessing has already established himself by winning the 2022 New York Pro and Indy Pro.
