Professional Bodybuilder Eugene Mishin dies at 48.
Popular professional bodybuilder and actor, Eugene Mishin, has passed away suddenly at the age of 48.
The bodybuilding community woke up to the shocking news after his good friend, Dave Palumbo of RxMuscle.com, confirmed the news on his social media channels.
The cause of death is still not confirmed, but according to Dave Palumbo, Eugene allegedly stopped breathing and the paramedics allegedly worked on him for 45 minutes.

“I’m very sad to report that my dear friend IFBB PRO @ifbbpro_eugenemishin has died at the age of 48 years old … The cause of death is unknown at the moment. He reportedly stopped breathing and paramedics worked on him for 45 min without success. His best placing was 3rd at the IFBB Orlando Pro in both 2010 and 2011 which qualified him to compete at the Mr Olympia (which was always his dream). He also did many acting gigs including his memorable portrayal as the “hormone-free” cow (with the needle hanging out of his arm) for Apple Gate Farms. He was a regular on the Heavy Muscle TV show when we filmed in NY… and his crazy stories about his days in Russia had the studio guests and viewing audience hysterical! He was one of the most loyal men I ever met and it was my honor to be able to call him my friend. He will be missed by his family, loved ones and close friends … prayers and love.” – Dave Palumbo
Eugene was a popular bodybuilder between 1995 – 2011. His best professional results were placing third at the Orlando Pro in 2010 and 2011. Both these placings helped Eugene make his dream reality, to qualify compete at the Mr. Olympia in 2010 and 2011.
During his amateur years, Eugene won the Russian Championship in 2002, and he also won the Heavyweight title at the 2002 IFBB European Championships.
Eugene was also a regular guest on RxMuscle.com’s podcast, with Dave Palumbo and the rest of the “Rat Pack”. The shows were always entertaining, and sometimes really crazy at times.
Personal training was also a passion for Eugene, helping people to just get in shape, or achieve results at the highest level in bodybuilding.
Eugene did not focus all his energy on bodybuilding, he was also an accomplished actor. Eugene worked on several commercials, and TV shows such as, Power on Starz, The Punisher on Netflix, and The Blacklist on ABC.
