J.M. Manion responds to former Olympia champions who always criticize.
Modern day bodybuilding has come under a lot of criticism from former champions and fans. J.M. Manion has decided to respond and call them out.
In a recent post on one of NPC’s official Instagram pages, J.M. Manion responds to the recent criticism modern day bodybuilding has been getting.
Former champions, including Mr. Olympia winners have been very critical when it comes to modern day bodybuilding.
In numerous interviews, the former champions are on record saying that their era was much more difficult compared to today’s version of the sport.
When the subject of comparing physiques of today’s bodybuilders to the legends of the 80’s and 90’s, the veterans of the sport will always say their era was better.
It seems J.M. Manion has had enough of this and published a post aimed at these former stars.
The post read: “Can someone explain to me this rash of former IFBB Pro League athletes that just flat out hate the sport that made them now? Recently they just go online to bitch, bitch and bitch that their era was the best and how today can’t compare to their era!. Yet these same people will be the first to ask for competition tickets to an NPC or IFBB Pro League contest.”
Manion continues his message by calling some athletes out, “I mean if you can’t stand the current state of the sport, why are you coming to the contests? This includes former Mr. Olympia champions to! Oh yeah… I think you still miss the fan adulation you can’t get being a keyboard warrior. At least be consitent! You either still like the sport or you can’t stand the current state. Hypocrites, you know who you are!”
Labeling former champions and Olympia winners hypocrites and keyboard warriors is proof that J.M. Manion has had enough.
The sport of bodybuilding has changed drastically in the last ten years, it seems that the former stars of the past do not want to move on.
As Manion stated, it could be that they miss being on top and can’t stand the fact that they are on the sidelines now.
Bodybuilding has progressed from a sport that was organized in run down auditoriums to five star venues.
The sport has evolved with numerous divisions and the focus sometimes moves away from bodybuilding, this in return irritates the hardcore bodybuilding athlete and fan.
To be fair with the for Olympia winners that are alleged to be criticizing modern day bodybuilding, when interviewed, these athletes are sometimes forced to give their opinion about the state of the sport. In return, they usually stick with their ere being the best.
