Some athletes have went to the extreme of calling out certain coaches, while other published the extreme and dangerous protocols that some female athletes are taking.

How does the Bob Cicherillo “The Voice of Bodybuilding” get involved in all of this?

Bob has been around the bodybuilding industry for a long time, he has dedicated his life to the sport and is one of the hardest workers in the industry. When Bob finally expresses his opinion on a subject, it will be after studying what was said from various sources, including this site.

With the silence from the NPC/Pro League after the recent death of Alena Hatvani at the 2021 Europa Pro, Bob’s video can be considered as the first official statement from the NPC/Pro League in regards to coaches and other matters related to Alena’s death.

Bob was pushed to make a statement after hearing 8X Ronnie Coleman’s statements about the use of diuretics-info.com and testing at NPC/Pro League events.

In a recent interview with Digital Muscle’s Shawn Ray, 8X Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman gave his opinion on the use of diuretics in the sport of bodybuilding.

Ronnie Coleman explained that in 2001, he almost died when he abused diuretics to the point that he barely could move.

“The one that stands out the most to me is ’01, where I was totally dehydrated the day of the show, and I was thinking I was going to die. That stands out to me more than any other show because I was on my way to the hospital and Chad (Nicholls) called me and said ‘Don’t do that!'”

“I wasn’t cramping or nothing, I was just exhausted, tired. I didn’t have no energy. When I went to get out of bed, I couldn’t hardly get out of bed because I was so exhausted and tired. I went to try to walk around a little bit, and I didn’t have no energy to walk around. I was like ‘Man, I’m out of it. Ain’t no way I can compete like this.'”, Coleman said.

There was nothing new about these comments, as Ronnie and others have talked about Ronnie’s near death incident at numerous seminars.

The next comment by Ronnie was what sparked Bob Cicherillo to give his opinion on this subject in his new podcast “Voice of Bodybuilding“.

“I think they probably all need to test them again for diuretics, like they did when (Mohammed) Benaziza died. That’s the main problem. Those diuretics are dangerous.

“Those diuretics are dangerous. They will kill you, as we’ve seen in the past. I think it’s mostly all about the diuretics, so I think if they brought diuretic testing back, that would solve the problem.”, Coleman said.

Ronnie believes that testing for use of diuretics should be done at future events withing the NPC/Pro League.

Bob Cicherillo believes that if Ronnie want’s to have any type of testing, he should start at his own show, the Ronnie Coleman Classic.

Bob confirms that Ronnie Coleman is an NPC/Pro League promoter and he can drug test his own show if he likes. At the same time, Bob stated that NPC/Pro League will not get involved in this decision.

Shawn Ray trades words with Bob Cicherillo

Immediately after Bob Cicherillo published his video discussing Ronnie Coleman and the use of diuretics, his colleague Shawn Ray, gave his opinion on the matter (scroll down to end of article).

Shawn seems to disagree on certain comments that Bob made in regards to Ronnie Coleman being a show promoter.

The NPC/Pro League does not get involved

After the recent deaths of some female athletes, some coaches have been accused of handing out dangerous protocols.

A number of athletes and people in the industry, including this site, have asked the NPC/Pro League to get involved and investigate these accusations.

Bob Cicherillo, in his podcast, confirmed that the NPC/Pro League do get involved in such matters.

Bob said, “The Pro League is NOT going to take a stance against a trainer, and institution, or a gym.

“The NPC/Pro League (Federation) does not take a position when it comes to trainers.

“They are not going to come out with some blanket statement against some trainer who’s had allegations made against them, by some disgruntled people.

“We have seen some serious allegations against some trainers, for various things, sexual misconduct, giving out advice when they shouldn’t be, they’re not a doctor, in regards to giving out prescriptions.

“The NPC/Pro League does not take a position when it comes to trainers” – Bob Cicherillo

“Once again, the federation (NPC/Pro League) will NOT take a stance against those things, they don’t get involved in personal matters.

“If there is a problem legally, then then you go to the authorities, it’s that simple, you want to log a complaint, you have something against somebody that legitimate, and there’s some issues that you need to address, then you go to the court of law or police department.”

“Again, the federation does not get involved in such matters. So people please stop with the ‘We need to do something’, we don’t. Those problems are individual and need to be handled individually,” concluded Cicherillo.

Near the end of the podcast, Bob also made a very important point that the NPC/Pro League does not endorse any trainers, or gyms. The NPC/Pro League does not have a list of approved trainers.

A number of debates in regards to Bob’s podcast will surely be heard, with a number of people agreeing or disagreeing to Bob’s comments.

In regards to changing the way shows will be judged, Bob explained that the NPC/IFBB Pro League see no reason to change the rules as they stand.

We can expect Shawn Ray to give his opinion of this, and we are looking forward to this.
