Nick Walker explains why he will not defend his Arnold Classic title
Nick Walker finally explains why he has decided to skip the 2022 Arnold Classic and only focus on the 2022 Mr. Olympia.
Nick Walker has become one the best bodybuilders in the world in a very short time. The young champion has already won the prestigious New York Pro and the Arnold Classic, in the same year.
After winning the New York Pro and Arnold Classic, Nick placed fifth at the Mr. Olympia.
When Nick Walker turned pro in 2020, just six weeks later, he decided to compete at the 2020 Chicago Pro. Nick went on to place fourth, behind Maxx Charles, Justin Rodriguez and Akim Williams.
After the contest, Nick made a promise to himself that Maxx, Justin and Akim will never beat him again.
Fast forward to 2021, Nick goes on to win the New York Pro and Arnold Classic, meaning the three athletes that defeated him in 2021, failed to defeat him.
Nick has decided to dedicate the year to prepare for the 2022 Mr. Olympia, a contest he believes he can win.
In his latest message on Instagram, Nick explains that he needs to focus on defeating the four competitors that placed higher than him at the 2021 Mr. Olympia.
Nick Walker believes he has to make the necessary improvements to defeat Big Ramy, Brandon Curry, Hadi Choopan and Hunter Labrada, to lift the Mr. Olympia title.

Everyone keeps asking “Why aren’t you doing the Arnold?”
I remember when I did the Chicago pro 6 weeks after I just turned pro. I took fourth place, three top guys in the sport beat me. Was I mad I didn’t win? I mean I think that should be anyone’s initial reaction when the goal is always to win. But I also knew I just got fourth behind some of the best.
I remember the next morning I looked myself in the mirror and I said “they will never beat me again”
Fast forward some, I won New York, I won the Arnold, I got 5th place at my first Olympia. Those guys have not beaten me again.
With the guys that beat me at the Olympia, it just doesn’t make sense to continue to compete without making the improvements needed to beat those guys at the Olympia. I need the off-season to make big improvements for the Olympia 2022.
Speak it into existence – Olympia 2022, I’m coming for it all – Nick Walker.
Big Ramy will have to keep an eye on Nick Walker, as this young bodybuilder is a threat and can dethrone him.
