IFBB and IFBB Elite Pro: A review of another successful year in 2021.
2021 produced a number of challenges throughout the year, but the IFBB and IFBB Elite Pro continued to push forward to organize successful events all over the world.
2021 was a year of uncertainty for the entire world, and the sporting world was not immune to this.
The Covid-19 virus is still is a threat, and this again, affected the way the IFBB and IFBB Elite Pro had to organize events.
Regardless of all the difficulties and challenges, IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja, continued to push forward and turn all the negativity into positivity.
Amateur events continued to be organized all over the world, with amateur athletes competing at the National and International level.
Every amateur athlete competed with the aim to earn their pro status within the IFBB Elite Pro division of the IFBB.
IFBB’s prestigious events, such as the IFBB European, World, Mediterranean and Arnold Classic Europe all were organized with great success.
As in 2020, the IFBB World Pro Championships were organized at the 2021 Arnold Classic Europe.
Thousands of athletes registered for these events, proving to the world that the bodybuilding and healthy lifestyle is still very strong and popular.
2021 also saw the return of a number of the Mr. Universe and the Europa Pro competition. This historic competition gave the opportunity to amateur and pro athletes to compete.
IFBB’s Diamond Cup series of events continued to be organized in various countries. The IFBB Diamond Cup has become a competition that every amateur athlete dreams to compete in. The level of competition is very high, and this gives the amateur athlete a small preview of what is expected at the IFBB Elite Pro level.
The stars of 2021
2021 saw the birth of new stars and also the dominance of a select number of athletes.
Michal Križo Križánek continued to stamp his authority in 2021. IFBB Elite Pro’s top bodybuilding star did not show any signs of slowing down.
Michal was successful in winning the Siberian, Arnold Classic Europe (IFBB World Pro Championships) and Mr. Universe pro events in 2021.
The big man from Slovakia continued to add more victories to his resume, proving that he is one of the top bodybuilders in the world.
With his great success, representatives noticed the potential and success of Michal and indirectly, they tried to persuade him to leave the IFBB Elite Pro.
With all eyes on Michal Križánek, Michal took the opportunity to sometimes tease the top athletes from other federations, this in return made Michal a world famous athletes instantly.
Michal was not the only bodybuilding star within the IFBB Elite Pro division within the IFBB,
Mateusz Zagórowski won two events in 2021 Defeating a lineup of 12 fantastic athletes at the 2021 Europa Pro, Mateusz was the last man standing, taking home the prestigious title.
Fresh from his first victory in Ostrava, Mateusz presented a perfectly balanced physique that was very hard to beat.
Every IFBB amateur bodybuilder has the dream to dominate and win the overall title at the European, Arnold Classic Europe and World championships.
Poland’s Tomasz Kornalweski wont he overall bodybuilding title at the 2021 Arnold Classic Europe.
Slovakia’s Vladimir Holota went on to win the overall bodybuilding title at the 2021 IFBB World Championships. Vladimir already has the potential to compete against the best of the best within the IFBB Elite Pro division.
Russia’s Kirill Nazarenko dominated the 2021 IFBB European Championships to take the overall bodybuilding championship title.
The popular Bikini division was dominated by various stars throughout the year. In the amateur division, thousands of female athletes take to the stage with the dream of earning their IFBB Elite Pro status.
Yana Kuznetsova, one of IFBB Elite Pro’s most successful bikini athletes, started the year with her usual dominance. Winning the Siberian and and Europa Pro contests was proof that Yana was still at the top of her game.
It looked as Yana would continue to dominate 2021, but she decided to take a small break to focus on growing her family.
Karina Gavrikova earned well deserved victories at the 2021 IFBB Elite Pro Ostrava championships and the IFBB Elite Pro Master’s event in Luxembourg. Karina is one of the IFBB’s most consistent Bikini athletes, competing on a regular basis within the IFBB Elite Pro division.
Karina, who has also won the 2020 IFBB Elite Pro Master’s World Championship, placed second at the 2021 Mr. Universe Pro event in October and fourth at the 2021 Arnold Classic Europe.
Travel restrictions due to Covid-19 unfortunately kept Karina from traveling to other events. We at Evolutionofbodybuilding.net are sure she would have continued her successful run of results.
Spain’s Lina Bejarano went on to win the Bikini category at the Mr. Universe Pro while Antigua & Barbuda’s Kimberly Percival won the 2021 Arnold Classic Europe title.
A new star was born within the IFBB Elite Pro division with Malta’s Sabrina Grima winning the 2021 IFBB Elite Pro Malta Bikini event on her pro debut. It was evident that Sabrina would be contender for her first pro victory with the condition she displayed.
Germany’s Sabine Simitsopoulos was successful in winning the Bodyfitness title at the 2021 Arnold Classic Europe. Sabine managed to push the IFBB Elite Pro’s queen of Bodyfitness Adela Ondrejovičová down to fourth place.
Sabine and Adel would meet again at the 2021 Mr. Universe Pro. Adel would again regain her dominance with Sabine having to settle for third.
The Wellness division was dominated by Lexy Oliver. Lexy went on to continue her dominance withing the IFBB Elite Pro division by winning the 2021 World Championships at the 2021 Arnold Classic Europe and the Mr. Universe.
The Men’s Physique division was again dominated by Ukraine’s Dmytro Horobets. Registering victories at the 2021 Mr. Universe and the IFBB Elite Pro World Championships at the Arnold Classic Europe, proved that Dmytro is still the man to beat.
The Men’s Classic Physique division has become one of the most popular events within the IFBB Elite Pro.
Sergey Serechshev went on to win the 2021 IFBB Elite Pro World Championship title at the Arnold Classic Europe event. Sergey’s presents a very balanced and conditioned physique, representing the Men’s Classic Physique division in the best way.
